Swanfrost was almost never in camp anymore. She found no use in it. The only time she really needed to be there was to eat and sleep. Otherwise, the territory was her home. She froze mid step, her paw hovering in the air uncertainly. She wiggled her nose, ears flattening against her head as she easily recognized the scent. Adaline. Swanfrost checked her surroundings quickly, a hiss of annoyance exiting her mouth. There was no way she could leave before she was spotted, and besides, Brightwing wouldn't want to talk to her anyways.

Brightwing wasn't sure what she was doing with herself, really. She was making a real mess of things. It took her falling apart to reconcile with Mudclaw. Though now... She didn't think she wanted to ever part with him again. If something tried to hurt him, she'd stop it. This sounded like a better plan to her now.
After losing Swanfrost... She couldn't lose everything again. That suffocating feeling of being alone had been too much to bear, between losing Swanfrost and Mudclaw finding her in their secret den.
So, she was trying to work to distract herself from these painful feelings. There were two rabbits hanging from her jaws when suddenly she stopped, eyes wide. She saw... Swanfrost.
She didn't know what to say...

Swanfrost cleared her theist uncomfortably. She didn't exactly have much of a reason to be mad at Brightwing, so she wasn't sure how to act. After all, Swanfrost was the one who had called off their friendship. She just couldn't deal with all the drama, she supposed. And in the end, she knew that Willowspirit would have made her choose between them. Whether she directly told her to or not.
"Brightwing." She stated coldly, her face void of emotions. Swanfrost shifted her weight to her left side, tail lowering slightly. "How are things?" She consciously decided to act this way. Like they had always been aquiantances. It was easier this way, and besides... Brightwing hadn't tried to work it out with her after the big fight. That's what had hurt the most. She felt like neither Willowspirit nor Brightwing cared.

Brightwing was hurt by Swanfrost's cold manner of speaking to her. As a result, she returned the gaze with something unreadable herself. Sometimes it hurt how easy it was for her to fake her feelings. Her intentions. Swanfrost clearly didn't want to be around her anymore... Pretend she was another stranger in the devon rex's life. Brightwing could make that happen, far too easily.
"... Things are fine." She wouldn't tell a stranger she'd reconciled with Mudclaw so... She wouldn't tell Swanfrost unless she asked. Even though she badly wanted to share this little fact, perhaps as proof that maybe... She wasn't the worst. Maybe she had some form of redeeming qualities, despite the pain that tears through her and everyone she cares about.

Swanfrost blinked slowly, opening and closing her mouth again quickly. What was she supposed to say to that? Brightwing hadn't even asked her in return. She supposed that she was right after all about her not caring.
"That's great, Brightwing." She snapped out sarcastically, turning back the way she had came. "I'll see you around ten. Or not. I don't really care." She threw the words over her shoulder like a twoleg would throw trash. If Brightwing really didn't care about her, then Swanfrost could easily reciprocate those feelings.

Brightwing's jaw tightened. "... Yeah." She replied. She wanted to say something. Anything. Ask if this was what Swanfrost really wanted. Try and plead her case. Yet... She kept her voice silent. She couldn't bring herself to say anything, for fear of rejection despite her desires. She was simply going to let Swanfrost leave, and leave their now former friendship in shattered pieces. ((Swanfrost yeah sure end of the tread.

Swanfrost bite her lip harshly, tail low. She wanted Brightwing to call her back. Say something. Anything! But she didn't. The message was clear. Swanfrost allowed her paws to slow before she completely stopped, ears flattening against her head. She swallowed. Swanfrost kept moving, and this time she didn't stop until she was out of sight.
