(Only open to one please.) Maryanne walked through the plains, a slight tremor going through her body and causing her to look around. Of coarse, it was a discreet couple of flames rather than acctually pausing and turning her head. And also of coarse, no one else was there. Not really that odd, but it didn't mean someone wasn't following her though, and she kept her chin up high and her back strait, carrying herself as confidently and arrogantly as she saw other cats she hated carrying themselves.

Loki had been padding around the plains when the scent of a cat he hadn't met hit his nose. It was strange to scent someone he hadn't met, since most the cats around here he'd already at least talked to.
He padded after the cat for a small while, before he noticed that stalking someone was the worst idea ever. He stepped from the underground and nodded at her, a slightly sly smile on his face. "I don't think I've had the pleasure of meeting you before," he said. He worded his greeting carefully, and it was a strange thing to say to one as soon as you step up to them.

Maryanne gave a curt nod at Loki's words, not at all taken aback by his random appearance. She had been expecting someone anyway. "I am Gabriella," she introduced with a smile. To her, false names were acctually more natural than her own. It was a little challenge she had to share a different name with every cat and see how long she could keep them fooled. Which was ussually a while, a few moons on adverage, then she'd share a different name. "Who might you be?"

Loki nodded with a smile. "Gabriella, you would be dumb to give your real name, and so I'm going to assume that is a fake name. I've had many years of expierence on that one. I'm Raven." His eyes gave some sort of twinkle, maybe of mischief, or rememberance.

Maryanne gave a small and sweet smile as if to say, "why would I do that?" but the words that came out of her mouth didn't match up. "Well then let's see if I can find it in me to trust you," she said, her voice ringing with the same innocence as was on her face.

Loki gave her a dpubtful look, squinting his eyes and cocking his head. "Ehh, it'd be pretty foolish to trust me, as well." He felt kinda bad for knocking her down again and again, but he was tired of being so squishy. He used to be careless, a total trickster, full of possible pranks. Now he just sauntered up to any old cat and smiled. Smiled. Loki internally screamed at himself. What had happened? He left his clan, one he could never get back to, thats what happened.

Maryanne narrowed her eyes ever so slightly as she watched the other cat. "I truly don't believe that. It's not stupid to trust new cats, but the other way around. Sure you don't want to go all out, but give a little faith." she told 'Raven'.

Loki shrugged. He wasn't sure he had faith in trust, because all the cats he once trusted either lied to him, or betrayed him.
((sorry short))

(That's fine.) Maryanne tilted her head, watching the other cat before deciding he had been betrayed one to many times. And that was just something she'd have to change. Not instantly, of coarse, earning trust took time, but she was alright with taking her time. The best bonds formed that way. And she was determined so it would not simply fade out. Locking her jaw with said determination, she shrugged. "Opinion do vary per cat. Might I ask for you to give me a chance though?"

Loki gave her quite the skeptical look, then shrugged. "We'll see." He gave her another quick glance, and noticed she was a bit younger than himself. "Where have you come from, may I ask?"
Most all cats around here had stories, some deep, like his, and others are shallow. Mostly, its cats who don't feel safe in clans, or simply wanted something different. He wasn't sure he fell into any of those categories.

Maryanne nodded and shrugged. "Sure, but you'll be disappointed to hear you've never hear of it," she joked. "It is acctually quite a distance away. I left because I no longer felt like I fit in." It was close enough to the truth, though not the full truth. Even she hadn't admitted tht to herself.

Loki blinked, hope rising in his chest, but he quickly squashed it. If she came from where he came from, she would know of him, no doubt. He wouldn't know her, most likely, if she was a guard or part of the warriors.
Besides, there was about a one in a million chance of her coming from his home. "Try me, what's it called?" he asked. Still, he knew of a few places.

Maryanne's jaw hardened slightly and she thought. "That depends on whichever place then I suppose. My birthplace or where I was before here?"

((maybe i should try a new theme, I'm getting tired of staring at this one after 450 posts))
"Either one, both?" Loki smiled. He would probably tell her where he was from if she told the truth. Though he was an excellent lie detector, he knew a few cats who were even better at hiding their lies. So far, this cat, 'Gabriella', had been pretty good at it.

Maryanne nodded and answered truthfully, though in a phrasing one oils have to have come from her land to understand. "The kingdom of the sun." she told 'Raven.'
