SwanfrostBrightwing had always been a curious soul. Though, those little sparks of personality had been all too often crushed underfoot by the massive train wreck also known as her life, they persisted. Which, had lead to her current situation.
She'd been wandering, stuck in her thoughts as usual, when she'd found some curious mushrooms by the border that gave them no new neighbors. They'd clearly been moved and she wondered why'd they'd been left at the border of all places. A spark of impulse and curiosity had struck. She'd eaten them, believing that nothing too bad could come of it.
Which came to bite her maybe an hour later. She'd suddenly found herself feeling rather nauseous and having a hard time seeing straight, coupled with some... Things... She wasn't sure was real or not. She really regretted eating those stupid mushrooms. She'd ended up collapsing onto her side who knows where. She was burying her face into her forelegs, not wanting to look at those faces looking at her with such derision and hatred.
She had to wonder what she did that she deserved this much hatred.

Swanfrost wasn't really doing much. Her life was full without anyone for company, and she found herself wasting away in the territory. She wasn't there to hunt, or to check the borders. She was just wandering. Thoughts of leaving her less than simple clan life had taken over her mind, and she found it was hard to sleep when her own mind wouldn't shut up.
Swanfrost stood near the border, stepping directly onto the scent line. She could just walk over and never look back. Nobody would miss her. The thoughts of finding her real family were driving her crazy. Swanfrost took a step over the border. Then another. She was about to go further when a familiar scent caught her attention.
Swanfrost turned around, a scowl on her face. She moved closer, out of sheer curioisity, to see Brightwing in a not so good looking state. She was laying on her side, covering her face. Swanfrost thought about leaving her there... but she couldn't bring herself to do it. "Hey, you okay?" She questioned cautiously, giving her a hard jab to the side.

Brightwing dared to peek to see Swanfrost standing above her. Then she was jabbed in the side. She lightly grunted, but didn't seem to do much other than leave her face in the dirt. She turned her head so she wasn't eating dirt anymore and could speak coherently. "Please... Just... Don't..." She whined, sounding more pathetic and vulnerable than she had possibly... Ever. She wasn't thinking about what she was doing, everything still felt like it was spinning. She tried to get to her feet, but ended up tripping again and falling forward. She groaned as she fell back on the ground, still definitely under the effects of the mushrooms. "D-Don't tease me like this..." She pleaded.

Swanfrost cocked her head to the side, her harshness melting. Why was Brightwing so... vulnerable? "Seriously, are you okay?" She repeated more persistently. When Brightwing fell over, Swanfrost shot forward, although only managed to ease her down on the ground a little slower than what the actual fall would have been. "What the hell is wrong with you?" Swanfrost hissed, her tail lashing. Although she appeared aggitated, she was really worried, and considered taking her to the medicine cats den. Although if Brightwing couldn't walk, Swanfrost doubted she could carry her all the way back.

Brightwing shook her head from where she was on the ground. "N-No..." She whined, sounding extra pathetic that day. "E-Everything... I'm the worst kind of everything..." She murmured, sounding as miserable as she felt. She seemed to try and push herself along the ground away from Swanfrost, though it was a bit... Ineffective. "P-Please s-stop... I-I know it's over..." She really had no idea that Swanfrost wasn't a hallucination, believing that the devon rex was a mix of her own imagination and those horrible, terrible mushrooms.
((I can't believe we got her drugged on mushrooms

Swanfrost was... confused, to say the least. "Brightwing... did you eat crow food or something?" What was she missing? She wasn't making any sense! As she feebly tried to move away from her, Swanfrost moved closer, unsure what to do. "Hey, it's okay, you're okay." She whispered soothingly, stroking Brightwings spine with her tail. Swanfrost didn't care if they weren't friends anymore, obviously something was very, very wrong.

Brightwing shook her head. "Mushrooms..." She murmured, somehow managing to be coherent enough to actually explain what had happened. She shivered, beginning to shed a few tears as she was comforted by what she believed to be a Swanfrost hallucination. "I-I'm sorry...." She curled up in on herself. "I r-ruin everything...."
((Mmmm assuming you don't want to RP Bright babbling and Swan awkwardly comforting her for 3-4 hours... Give me the word and we can timeskip to when Bright isn't... Y'know. High.))

"Mushrooms!? Bright-" Swanfrost cut herself off, knowing that yelling at her would only make it worse. She curled up next to the feline, pressing her side into Brightwings, shushing her lightly. She would stay that way until she was better. No matter what had happened, she couldn't stand seeing her like this.
-yeah, we can do a time skip now-

Thus... The next few hours passed with Brightwing occasionally babbling something about how sorry she was, and more rather depressing self-deprecative things. Occasionally, she whined at something that wasn't there and once or twice begged for forgiveness. It was honestly a mess.
Finally... After what was likely the most awkward period of time in Swanfrost's life... Brightwing was finally coming down from the high. The very unwanted high. She rose to her feet slowly before collapsing on her side again. "Ugh....." She groaned, stretching it out for far too long. "Remind me to never... Ever... Eat anything that isn't prey or prescribed by a medicine cat..." Then she froze, and pushed herself into a sitting position, her fur standing on end. "Wait. You're actually here?!" She seemed startled by Swanfrost's presence. "I thought you were a hallucination!"

Swanfrost was not enjoying her time spent with Brightwing, that was for sure. With her random babbling, she did her best to be comforting, but it certainly wasn't one of her skills. And besides.... Her and Brightwing weren't exactly friends anymore.
Swanfrost couldn't help but let out a breath of relief, knowing that Brightwing was finally snapped out of... whatever that was. She grunted, standing to her paws once Brightwing did. "Yeah, it's really me." She growled, eyes narrowed angrily. "What the hell is wrong with you! You should've known better! What would have happened if something went terribly wrong, and I wasn't here!? Think Brightwing!" She hissed. She had been terrified that she would die.

Brightwing looked guilty. Honestly guilty, unable to meet Swanfrost's eyes. "... Swanfrost. Why do you still care?" She asked quietly. "Why are you here? I... I just..." She shut her eyes. "You said you were done with me. Why didn't you just walk away?" She sounded honestly confused.
And she was. She didn't understand. Usually, this was the point where cats decided she was better off dead, rather than staying with her. "Were you hoping I'd say something incriminating you could hold over my head...?" She couldn't think of any other explanation. She knew for a fact that if Willowspirit was here and had stayed, that's exactly what the silver tabby would've done.

Swanfrost was still fuming despite Brightwings guilty look, although once she started talking she visibly loosened, only to tense up in a different way once again. "Just because..." She shook her head roughly. "You don't just stop caring, that's not how it works." She snapped, her defenses rising.
Swanfrost narrowed her eyes, genuinely hurt. "What kind of cat do you think I am?" She hissed quietly, tail lashing behind her in a strong, steady beat. "I was sick of drama, Brightwing. You and Willowspirit are drama."

Brightwing wasn't sure what to make of Swanfrost's apparent tension, loosening, only to tense back up again. She looked away. ".... It seemed like me and Willowspirit were gonna be real sisters once. Then it just fell apart again." She replied quietly.
She shut her eyes tightly. "Smart enough to get away from me. You shouldn't have to deal with mine and Willowspirit's crap. It's a lot of crap. Neither of us can deal with it at all." She sighed. "I don't blame you for trying to get away. I'd do it in a heartbeat if I could."

Swanfrost felt... guilty. Perhaps Brightwing really needed her... No, she had Mudclaw. But who did Willowspirit have? "You never needed me anyways." She shrugged as if dismissing the whole topic. She wasn't sure who she was trying to convince.
"You have Mudclaw, and besides, I'm sure he would be better with helping you and Willowspirit. I'm not exactly a good choice for a mediator." Swanfrost knew that she could be over dramatic, and she tended to cause the problems, not solve them.

Brightwing looked at Swanfrost with wide, hurt eyes. She wasn't sure what the heck those mushrooms did to her, but she wasn't exactly in the greatest of states at the moment, post-mushrooms. "You really think that?" She asked quietly.
She sniffed. "I don't have Mudclaw... I-I, we sort of reconciled but I haven't seen him around." She shut her eyes tight. "... I don't want to get him hurt. My sister and I have created the biggest problem in Fireclan. My siblings are the ones under watch. I can't subject Mudclaw to that anymore than I already have." She sighed. "... Sometimes I really just want to leave..."
((did you know brightwing is actually gonna leave FC at some point, probably sooner than i thought lawl
