Rot was just coming back to DeathClan with a mouse in his jaws. It was a good size and just the smell of it made Rot's mouth water. Making himself comfortable, Rot jumped when he heard someone else pad up behind him. Whipping his head around, Rot snarled, "This is my mouse! Go get your own!"

W inter had been padding through Deathclan's territory when he stumbled across a stranger. Beingn curious, he began to pad up behind the cat, but stopped with a stone expression as the cat snarled at him. His expression stoic, he responded coolly, "I wouldn't want to eat something caught by some other, grubby cat." notes

[Rot]

Shock spread quickly over Rot's face when the tom spoke to him. Feeling his pelt spike up a little, Rot snarled, "Grubby? Who are you calling 'grubby'?"
Standing over his mouse, Rot let his odd claws slid out into the dirt. Changing the subject, Rot sourly mewed, "What bring you here anyway?"

W inter stood up a bit straighter, completely relaxed. He wasn't the least bit afraid. He had faced cats much worse than this one. In fact, he was one of those cats that was much worse. He had fought himself, rid himself of his ugly past. Fought the monster that he knew was still hidden inside. "You could say I was minding my own business..." he shrugged. "Then I saw you." notes

Rot was slightly confused. Was this cat standing straighter? Was he looking more confidant? Rot somewhat admired this cat, but he didn't want to show it, yet. Still letting his fur spike up, Rot made his voice softer than before. "Saw me?" He let out a small chuckle, "No one wants to look at me." He took it very hard after his own mother told him that.

W inter slightly flinched at the cat's response, as if it was directed at him instead of at the stranger, but he quickly covered it up. Winter had no idea how to respond without sounding like a kit, so he just smiled a bit. notes

Rot felt quite offended when the other cat smiled, but instead of clawing the cat, he decided to change the subject. "My name is Rot. You?"

W inter inclined his head a bit, in something that resembled the smallest of a bow. "I'm Winter. Where are you from?" He'd been around Deathclan long enough to notice when a new cat appeared out of the blue. notes

"Eh." Rot grunted, waving his tail toward the plains. "Somewhere past there. Or, well, that's the area where I can from." Feeling a little more comfortable around this, Winter, Rot sat heavily down and took a bite out of his mouse. "Where did you come from?" Rot meowed after he swallowed.

W inter gave another fairly small smile, before responding, "Daleko." He then cast a glance back at Rot. "That means far away." notes

"Hmm," Rot shrugged, taking another bite out of his mouse, "Have you ever seen a pretty tortoise she-cat out there?"

W inter shook his head with the smallest smile possible. "That I have not." notes

Rot returned the slight smile, "Maybe she is finally gone from my life."

W inter's ear twitched. "And who is 'she'?" notes

"She is my mother." Rot muttered, wishing this was not true. "Looks nice, sometimes acts nice, never to me."
