SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Raven smiled at his brother, before he heard their names called out by his sister, who did have a wonderful speech about them. When the door opened, he saw Graypaw stand up a bit straighter and walk confidently down the isles. Ravenpaw walked with graceful confidence, which was a bit different from what his brother looked like. When they reached the stairs, Raven caught Graypaw's wink and his father's eye roll, and in turn slightly smiled.
They were facing their parents, and Willowpaw between them. Raven felt his heart leap as their father stood, silencing the crowd in one. Every part of him demanded respect, and Ravenpaw bowed his head a bit, before bringing his gaze to meet his mother's. She smiled at him.

Calista listened with half an ear as her parents went through their ceremonious lines, busy getting over the embarrassment after the speech that left her cheeks warm. (She's trying to be ignored, so I litterally can't make this any longer.)

At the single step his father took, the audience went silent.
"Graypaw. Step forward." His father commanded, and he did so, now in front of Ravenpaw, but still kneeled. Lightningstrike waited a long while before continuing. "My firstborn. So long, you have trained. And experienced you have become. You were given the gift of Thunder and Lightning. It can be used as a weapon to destroy, or as a tool to build." Graypaw cast a glance at Featherbreeze, who was smiling widely. His father continued on.
"Do you swear, to protect the nine realms?"
"I swear." He answered.
"Do you swear, to preserve the peace?"
"I swear." The words flowed easily from his mouth.
"Do you swear, to cast aside all selfish ambitions; and to pledge yourself only for the good of the realm?"
"I swear!"
"Then I this day, Lightningstrike all father, proclaim you as Grayfang, warrior of Asgard." The crowd went wild, and the newly name warrior stood and yelled, welcoming the shouts of Grayfang. His father nodded to him, and he went off to the side, waiting for Ravenpaw to join him after his own name change.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Ravenpaw watched with a throughly worried expression as Graypaw was announced to be Grayfang. He was full of energy, courage, and Raven knew he was also full of himself. When he went along to give Raven the stage, Raven felt small and weak behind his brother's great show.
"Ravenpaw, you have trained long and hard, just as your brother. You possess the gift of your mother, Featherbreeze, the ability to create illusions." He paused slightly, and Raven couldn't bear to meet his eyes, thinking that they were full of disappointment.
"Do you swear to protect the nine realms?"
"I swear," Raven said, a little quietly.
"Do you swear to preserve the peace?"
This time, the answer Raven gave had more heart to it, and was stronger. He even took his gaze from the floor and met his father's eye, saying, "I swear."
"Do you swear, to cast aside all selfish ambitions; and to pledge yourself only for the good of the realm?"
At this, Raven stood up straight and narrowed his gaze a little bit. He made sure his voice had power behind it, and he answered, nearly menacingly, "I swear."
"Then on this day, Lightningstrike all-father proclaims you as Ravenblaze, warrior of Asgard." Lightstrike's gaze rested on Raven's, then lifted to the crowd's with an unreadable expression as everyone began to cheer. Ravenblaze padded to his brother's side as his name rose above the noise, chanted over and over again, Ravenblaze, Ravenblaze, Ravenblaze, but Raven drowned it out as he looked af his brother, the perfect, first born son.

Willowpaw stepped forwards after the individual ceremonies, not to talk, thank the gods that was over, but to congratulate her brothers. "Congradulations Greyfand and Ravenblaze," she said, the names sounding foriegn on her tounge. "Sorry I'm such a horrible speaker."

Grayfang stood, looking out among the gathered Asgardians. Close to the front, he saw his friends, Volstagg and Fandral and Hogun; cheering him and Ravenblaze on. He turned to where he saw his mother last, who was now conversing with Sif. And when he felt Raven's icy gaze, he avoided it; letting his attention lay on Willowpaw. The warrior smiled widely, "You were wonderful sister. And, thank you." He winked at mother and Sif who were now laughing and looking at him, before leaning back and continuing. "Will you be coming, to the celebration?"

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Ravenblaze's eyes followed his brother's to where his brother's friends sat, cheering. He had never really called them his friends, mostly because they had unwavering allegiance to Grayfang and would betray Raven at any point. But when Willowpaw padded up to the two, he stuck on a smile for show. "Grayfang is right," Raven agreed, half wanting to add under his breath like always, but he refrained. "You were spectacular."
At Grayfang's next comment to their sister, his eyes lit up a bit. This would be the greatest part of the night, when all the cats came together in a room of the palace that was rarely used, a large, bright, golden room that Raven called 'offlimits,' because no one could step foot within except on occasions such as this.

Willowpaw nodded slowly. "Yeah... yeah, I guess I will." she responded rather tightly, then she turned her gaze away to search for Shadowblaze, smiling softly as she spotted him, but not letting her gaze linger so that Raven and Grey couldn't track her gaze. She turned back to her two brothers a moment later. "Everyone is here and everyone will be going there."

"Well, then I'll see you!" The warrior shouted over the noise, jogging towards Sif and mother, walking with them both to the celebration room.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Ravenblaze watched as Grayfang jogged away to join Sif and his mother, his gaze following them out the door as the crowd flowed behind them. He started his way down the stairs after most the cats were gone. No one was there to walk with him, and he wasn't surprised, really. As he hit the bottom step and started to make his way to the door, he looked around for Willowpaw.

Willowpaw had managed to disappear in the crowd for a moment and, when her brothers both made it into the room, she had hung back without any notice. Well, no notice except from Shadowblaze, who she cast off by sticking out her tounge. He went into the party after a moment of her glaring, and she went back into the room where the ceremony had been moments before, looking around the wide space. One cat still lingered other than her, mostly shrouded in shadows. She had spotted this cat earlier but hadn't said anything. "You should join the party." she said to the cat as she got closer, close enough to make out the dark pelt of the cat and see the cat shaking her head. Willowpaw looked away for a moment and opened we mouth to say something, but the cat was gone when she turned back. Again, she had seen the cat before. And every time, she never managed to talk to her.
Calista looked around for a while longer, but when it came apparent that there was nothing else to get away with saying she "had to do," she entered the grand room where everyone else was. She managed to sneak into the crowd without anyone noticing her entering, and she wove between the cats, ever the hostess with a beautiful smile and way to many overused complements slipping off her tounge. She eventually came across Shadowblaze again, and only lingered for a while. If the other Asgaurdians outside th family noticed she had feeling for him when she was the safe guard for a union? She may as well leave the kingdom. They would react much better to that. She extanged a few words with him and arranged to meet after the celebrations to train more, then she headed back into the crowd of cats, back to playing the role of the docile daughter of Odin, the only one in the kingdom who wouldn't, couldn't, put up a fight. The one who would be married off one day and all but forgotten. She had never really talked to Grey and Raven about it... she supposed she could ask them what they would do when she left after she herself became a warrior. They had their own battles to fight. Not long after leaving Shadowblaze, she finally managed to find a familiar face, her friend Morningdew. She talked to her for a while before she spotted Raven and headed off to talk to him.
"Hello Ravenblaze. Are you enjoying the party?" she asked, acting the lady that she was certain both of her brothers knew better than to believe was her.
(A bit long, sorry.)

Once Thor had finished talking with the two she-cats he was going to make his way to his friends when he remembered Ravenblaze, probably pouting in some corner.
He swam throughout the surging sea of cats, to find Ravenblaze at the rooms entrance. "Brother..." Then Willow came up to him, and they started talking. He waited a while, debating whether or not to bother his brother.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Ravenblaze's ears perked as he heard his 'name' said, then saw Willowpaw talking to Grayfang, most likely about him. He turned with a scowl and padded into the crowd, not headed anywhere in particular. He found himself a nice, shadowy pillar to sit next to.

As Ravenblaze walked away, Willowpaw turned to Greyfang behind her. "Does he really hate these celebrations so?" she asked, her tone by far gentler and softer than normal. Gods, she absolutely hated public gathering like this.

"They're mostly glorified." Grayfang shrugged, going after his brother. Ravenblaze hated everything, or at least he acted that way. "Must you sulk at every event?" The warrior approached his brother. "What's wrong?" He questioned, sitting near him.
