Arabella simply nodded, staying still for a moment before speaking again. "And revenge is simply the loss of it."

"Who do you know this?" Rot snapped, staring directly at Arabella.

Arabella shook her head. "It doesn't matter. When someone dies, they are in the past."

Relaxing, Rot realized that he was going through loss, one he felt horrible and another he was grateful for. "Some cats are sadly not in the past." Rot muttered, referring to his mother.

Arabella smiled tightly. "When they refuse to go away, you just have to force them to because life isn't about the past. Get caught up in that and you won't see the present."

"If you see your mother again, you'd want that to be words you found in the moment. It is pointless to dwell and plan until then, because odds are you won't even be able to find those words."

Sighing, Rot murmured, "Thank you. For clearing that up. I am going to try to stay in the present."

Rot chuckled as Arabella made her last comment. "I am glad for that! I get to see you any day I want!" Following her outside the cave, Rot asked, "Where are we going next?"

Arabella cast a grin over her shoulder and didn't respond as she continued walking, making her way to her den, which was in a hallowed out tree.

"What are you hiding from me?" Murmured Rot, trotting up beside Arabella. Seeing a tree, Rot soon asked, "Is that where your taking me?"

Arabella tilted her head. "Who says I'm hiding something from you?" she asked as they arrived at the tree that twolegs had long ago hollowed out and she had acomidated from there. "Welcome to my den."

"Wow." Was all Rot could say, "Twolegs did pretty good here." Sniffing the bottom of the trunk, Rot looked back up and meowed, "Mind to show me inside?"

Arabella grudges, felling warmth slip into her cheeks. "Thers not much to show other than a nest and it's really a mess," she said, but didn't stop him from going in if he wanted to.
