Nighttimes are far more interesting that daytimes.
And for that reason, Skypaw was padding through the FireClan territory on his silent little paws, which were abnormally dainty for an apprentice. His light grey fur shone silver in the starlight, and when he found a nice little clearing deep in the grass, he purred to himself and set himself down there.
His kitten-soft fur pressed up against a hollow log, he stretched out across the ground, which was still warm from the memory of the sun. Flickering in soft, glowey lights were fireflies as they flitted around the night sky, mingling with the light from the stars. It looked almost like they were dancing with each other.
Skypaw tucked his chin into his fluffy white chest fur and watched the lights shimmer and glitter above him, big blue eyes peaceful.

Dustpaw had been wandering around, lonely as his siblings were sleeping after a hard day of training, though he couldn't sleep himself. So he'd found himself out of camp, padding along the now familiar tracks of Fireclan territory. He took a deep breath in, a gentle breeze ruffling his grey and brown tabby fur, as he felt peaceful and content in a way he hadn't for so long.
As he padded quietly and slowly along at his own pace, he spied another apprentice sitting and gazing at the stars. With a small smile, he turned his steps in the other cats direction.
"Hey, you." He meowed in his way of greeting. "I'm Dustpaw, who are you?" He asked, curious. He sat next to the tom, getting comfortable, and gazed at him with shining greyish eyes which looked silver in the moonlight.

Startled by the words of another cat, Skypaw almost flinched but resisted out of better sense. Shy in nature, and very anxious, he timidly turned to look at the cat, almost sighing in relief when he noticed it was another apprentice who he'd seen a lot near the apprentice's den, but has been to shy to say hi to. He even had a little smile on his face! That was encouraging.
Moments pass, until Skypaw realised that the other apprentice must've been waiting for a response. He hurried to respond.
"I'm Skypaw," he mewed quickly, disgusted at how weak he sounded. All courage gone, he whispered "Hey," ever so softly.

Dustpaw grinned at the other apprentice. "Skypaw, hey. Nice name, I like it." He meowed, totally ignoring the pause between his question and Skypaws answer. He didn't really care, as long as Skypaw didn't run off or anything.
He then scrutinized Skypaw, eyes ever so slightly narrowed. Hmmm.... he's a little shy and anxious. How do I fix that? If only brother were here, he'd be so great with this. Letting out a long, loud sigh, Dustpaw decided to just try to work him back up to that flash of courage he had glimpsed before that worked so well with the other apprentice. He suited that look of confidence.
"It sure is nice out here, hey. Nice to get away from the clan and have some alone time, right?" He meowed, moving to lay lazily on the soft grass, stretching out his limbs. He wriggled his shoulders and grinned, forgetting Skypaws anxiousness. "Ah, yeah. It's nice." He sighed, eyes closing in contentment.

Whoever he was, this cat was nice, Skypaw realised. He even complimented his name. That put a small, sweet smile on Skypaw's face. Shuffled his tiny white paws a bit. Then realised Dustpaw's eyes on him, analysing him, and resisted a flinch. No, he had no reason to be anxious; he had already proven to be nice. Right? Would that be enough for him not to judge Skypaw?
Before his mind could spiral any more out of control, Dustpaw spoke again, and when he turned to look at the other apprentice again, he realised that he had joined him on the soft grass. He watched as his eyes closed in contentment, and Skypaw smiled brightly at his words. He understood! Another cat understood how nice it was to leave the Clan for once, leave the noise and the anxiety and all the eyes, judging, judging so much...
"It is nice," he meowed, his voice stronger than before. Feeling a lot more confident and even a bit daring, he continued. "You're really nice," his voice was almost surprised.

Dustpaw smiled as Skypaw agreed with him, saying it was nice. He was please to hear that Skypaws meowed was stronger and more confident. When he was comlplimented on his niceness, his eyes grey - silver eyes opening.
"Uh, thank you. But you'd be the only one to say that." He chuckled. "My siblings would disagree with you." He grinned, but was sort of shocked and touched and warmth spread though him. "Honest, you're nice too. A little shy, but I'm glad I can get around that to your inside self." He meowed, gazing a little into Skypaws eyes. "No one should be judged for who they are, and I'm sure you use the anxiousness as a barrier and as a result of that judging." He flicked his tail and turned his gaze to the clouds, sighing, but smiling. He felt happy at the moment, like he did when with his siblings.

Skypaw smiled to himself, almost giddy. This was much further into a conversation than he would usually go, and to be completely truthful, he was enjoying this other apprentice's company. He wasn't mean, judgy, or even remotely unwelcoming. He was friendly, nice, and caring in a way that made Skypaw feel warm and soft inside.
"Well, your siblings are furballs," he meowed, before catching himself and ducking his head. "Sorry."
"Honest, you're nice too,"
I am? The apprentice was a bit taken aback. His white-tipped ears flickered like little flames and his whiskers twitched. And now the other tom had turned his eyes back onto him, but not in an unkind way; he was looking into Skypaw's eyes, which Skypaw didn't know how to interpret. The other apprentice had nice eyes, he noticed; greyish in colour.
He followed Dustpaw's lead and fell back onto the grass, stretching out onto a grass, tiny little smile still on his face. He noddeda tiny bit as he listened to the other apprentice's interpretation on his anxiety, which he knew (and was told) he had a lot of.
"I'd never thought of it like that," he meowed. "Perhaps."
He then turned to look at Dustpaw again; apparently he had siblings? Probably also apprentices, he realised.
"Who are your siblings?" he asked curiously.

Dustpaw laughed when Skypaw called his siblings furballs. "Yeah, you're right. No need to apologise." He grinned, recalling the image of his siblings and their antics he always was part of in his head. "We're all furballs."
Dustpaw shrugged. "I don't know, I'm just thinking out loud here." He meowed.
Skypaw turned to look at him, and he met the toms gaze. Then the white and ginger tom asked a question, and Dustpaw smiled. "My brother is Lionpaw and my sister is Sandpaw. Lionpaw's a little bit too high on his horse for people, but he's a great tom, and will be a great warrior. Sandpaw it amazing and kind and fun, and she hopes to be leader one day. They are the best siblings, honest, though don't tell Lionpaw or he'll never let me hear the end of it." Dustpaw chuckled. He turned to Skypaw.
"What about you, tell me about yourself. Siblings, mentor, training, friends, life, etc." He offered some topics, tail flicking by his side idly.

Skypaw listened to Dustpaw, quietly, indulging in the other apprentice's words. He liked hearing the tom talk, it soothed him in ways only the stars at night do. When he mentioned Lionpaw, Skypaw gave a flick of his white-tipped ear.
"I know Lionpaw," he meowed in his quiet meow. He had met the tom once, and was in awe of his confidence, something he longed for himself. The tom seemed so happy and comfortable with himself. Skypaw admired him.
After his little monologue, it was Skypaw's turn to talk. He nodded slightly to Dustpaw's question, preparing himself even though he felt a lot more comfortable.
"I don't have any siblings. At least, none that I know of. I mean, I was adopted." First time he's ever said that to anybody else.
"My mentor's Treasurehunt. She's really nice," he meowed, thinking of the warrior. On his first day, when he made a fool of himself, she stepped out of her way to reassure him. He smiled softly. NOTES please bear with me and my costantly changing posting templates ((:

((no worries I really like the one you used in your previous post))
Dustpaw rolled his eyes when Skypaw said he knew Lionpaw. Sure he did, Lionpaw would jump at ANY opportunity to let others know about him "Ah, I see." He laughed, listening to the awe that Skypaw felt for his brother. Great, just make the toms head bigger.
Dustpaw listened to Skypaw, and let out a small noise when he said he was adopted. "Oh, I'm sorry. Do you like being adopted? Do you wish you knew your parents?" He asked, gently. He took care and tried not to say anything that could offend or upset the tom.
When he moved on the mentors, Dustpaw grinned. "Hey! Treasurehunt is my mentor too!?!" He meowed, laughing. "Wow, cool. Whadd'ya know" He purred, amused. He watched sort of as Skypaw seemed to remember something and smiled at it. Yeah, Treasurehunt was THE BEST!
