Cleo stretched out her legs before following after the feline, who's name she realized she didn't know. Just as Cleo had opened her mouth to ask, she had already said it. Rose. "Pretty." Cleo purred, moving forward a little faster so she could be walking beside her.
"Cleo." She had never particularly enjoyed her name. It was rather short, and couldn't be made into anything else. Rose was short too, but you could still have nicknames, like Roe. Not that it mattered. Cleo tried not to think about the things she didn't like about herself.

"Cleo," Rose repeated, testing the name out. It rolled off her tongue in a satisfying way, so she smiled.
"I like it."
Rose wasn't good at making friends, she realised as she padded through the meadow, Cleo at her side. Sure, she wanted to, but she didn't know how. How did the process go? Did they list off the positive attributes to each other, then mutually agree the be in a kind alliance we call friendship?
She really didn't know how it worked, so she resorted to the age-old practice where you toss question after question at a newly-met cat.
"So, Cleo, I hope you don't mind me asking..." she searched her mind for a question.
"Any toms in your life? Or are you into she-cats?" she meowed, tipping her head.

Cleo beamed at the 'compliment', letting it sink in. Atleast somebody liked her name.
Cleo watched Rose carefully, studying her. She wasn't extremely observant like some, but she did take care in understanding those around her. She was fairly sure she understood Rose, atleast to some extent. She was kind, proper, perhaps a little reserved with some.
Cleo laughed at the question, amused. "No, definitely not." She didn't bother responding with the 'tom or she cat' question. She really wasn't sure...
"You?" She flashed her a curious sideways glance.

The Siamese was slightly shocked at the beam she was given for her compliment.
Hey, she was getting better at this whole 'friend' thing.
She interpreted Cleo's silence to her 'tom or she-cat' question as confusion, as she didn't really know yet. That was fine. Rose didn't mind, either way.
"You?"
Curious eyes weer flashed her way, and she grinned.
"Oh, darling, there's always a tom," she meowed dramatically before lightly laughing a bit. "But no, not since I came out here."
She smiled brightly again. "Your turn to ask a question."

Cleo wasn't sure whether to take Rose's remark about toms seriously or not, but either way she found it kind of fascinating. She had met many tons, yet she hadn't found an interest in them, and vice versa. So how did one she cat manage to get so many?
Cleo grinned thoughtfully once it was apparently her turn for asking questions. She had never really done a back and forth get to know you thing, but so far it was fun.
"Any passions? Other than all the toms, of course." Cleo gave her a playful wink, bumping lightly against her shoulder. She found that the more relaxed she was with a cat, the better her English got. Perhaps it was simply because she wasn't so worried. Still, her accent jumbled the words, and they were slow and drawn out. Just, to a lesser extent.

two enormous black wings A smile, a genuine smile, made its way onto her face, here to stay this time. She shook her head lightly.
"Not really. I haven't really had the time to develop passions; though I do have quite the interest in listening to songbirds."
Those beautiful little birds were the epitome of grace and beauty, innocence all wrapped up in a tiny body and a pair of wings. Innocence was something Rose hadn't come across in a long, long time.
"My turn. Who've you met around this area so far?" there couldn't possibly be that many cats living around these parts, so chances are they've met someone in common. "What do you think of them?"

Cleo felt warm inside, seeing that she was able to make Rose carry a genuine smile. It seemed to affect her, seeing someone happy like that, she too found a matching smile on her face.
"Songbirds sound very beautiful." Cleo agreed. She had always wondered why they were singing. Were they trying to contact fellow birds, or were they simply singing because they too knew of their own beauty.
Cleo hummed in thought, trying to remember. "I've met a few. Loki, Soul and Gale. In a way, they were all the same, much like you." Cleo purred.
"If you could do anything you wanted to do, what would it be?"

two enormous black wings Loki, Soul and Gale. Out of the three, she had known two. She tipped her head slightly, wondering who Soul was.
"I do presume that we are all the same," Rose meowed. "But then again all so different."
"If you could do anything you wanted to do, what would it be?"
She gave it a quick thought. Out of all the things she could do right now, what would it be? Certainly not return home. No, never again. She bit her lip.
"I would go over there," she meowed, gesturing where a beautiful mountain peaked out of the ground in the very, very far horizon.
Her paws suddenly met rough dirt, and she realised they had wandered the entirety of the pasture, simpling chatting amongst herself. Something she'd never done before.
"This is where I leave you, Cleo," she meowed. "But I do think we will meet again."
sorry for kind of ending the thread, we could have another one soon ^^

Cleo followed her gaze towards the large mountain, way off in the distance, and she squinted. "That would be nice." Her tone was dreamy, and Cleo had to force herself to look back at the feline.
Realizing they had travelled across the whole pasture, Cleo nodded, slightly disappointed. She had enjoyed talking to Rose. "Goodbye, Rose." Cleo padded forward with a smile, brushing her muzzle along Rose's. It was natural for her to make such a friendly gesture, especially since they had gotten along so well.
