I'm nuts, baby, I'm mad The craziest friend that you've ever had You think I'm psycho, you think I'm gone Tell the psychiatrist something is wrong
Loki flicked his eyes back to her. "It did, once, but it is burning in a different way now." His comment was ominous, dark and mysterious. It was hard to say what was going on in his old home, but he could say what he knew, and he knew little. It was strange to not know something, yet he still acted as if he knew the whereabouts of his palace, as if he visited regularly.
In truth, he could never go back. He went back once, and lost his brother. He lost his adoptive parents there, as well. He killed his own father in the halls of that place, and if he went back, who knows who else would die. Loki rested his green eyes on the stranger. "I do not believe I know your name," he spoke suddenly, and the question rose in the air.

Cleo nodded her head slowly. It was a mystery, the place he spoke of, but she had no intentions of solving it. The feline in front of her was dark alluring; fascinating to most, but dangerous to her. Cleo had already found a small piece of him that was pure- languages spoke to him the same way they spoke to her. But she wanted to find more.
"Cleo. And you?" She smiled, curling her feathered tail around her dainty paws. She had the physique of a hunter, and he seemed to have the same. Definitely not short and stocky.

Loki found himself giving out his name, something he hadn't done in quite a long time. "I am Loki," he said, but the name felt bare, without meaning, just a name. He didn't belong anywhere, he had no rank, so he was just simply, a name. Yet, she was simply a name, as well. Cleo, it was different, he observed, perhaps shorter for something else.

Loki was certainly one of the odder names of those around these parts. Which made sense, of course. "Does it mean anything?" She wasn't really sure what 'Cleo' meant.

Loki nearly sighed. He'd been asked this same question before, once long ago, and he'd give the same answer. Truly, he didn't know, but he knew a little about the background of it. "I have found that it might mean 'mischievous."'

Cleo had a feeling that 'mischievous' suited him. "So..." Cleo trailed off, humming thoughtfully. "Do you live around here?" It was simple enough, she supposed, although most cats probably wouldn't want to share their location, she had a feeling Loki might. Cleo was clearly no match for the tall, elegant tom, so why hide it?

"I do not belong to any certain place, so no. I've always just travelled around, stopping where I pleased, and continuing on. I've found that having a certain den would be quite the upkeep, and besides, both my siblings have, or had, their own dens, so I always had a place to go if I needed it." Loki stopped, and have a short of a sly smile, leaving out the extra part to his sentence, but I don't need it.@//tag MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

Cleo tilted her head. "Doesn't it get tiring? Never really having somewhere to call 'home'?" Cleo could speak from experience when she asked. She had been travelling since her parents died, and it felt wrong, to never stop and settle in. It felt lonely, in a different kind of way.

"I have lost my home and never bothered to find a new one," Loki commented in the driest of voices. Truly, he didn't care, and he could deal with the tirelessness. He actually enjoyed wandering, he didn't mind not having a home, because he knew one would always be waiting for him if he ever returned. If he actually did find a den, that would mean he had settled for this world, and really, he didn't want that. 87 MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

Cleo didn't want to overstep, yet she had the pressing urge to offer him advice. But, from what she knew, cats didn't like advice, and even if they listened, they didn't take it. "Well that's really too bad." She blinked, ears flicking back against her head softly.

Loki's eyes grew slightly colder, and a small furrow appeared in his brow as her turned his face away from her, nearly spitting, "I don't need sympathy." That's all he got, like his life was just a sad story to be woeful about. He hated it, and he wished cats would just stop asking. 63 MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

Cleo frowned, knowing that despite her efforts, she had managed to set him off. "I'm sorry..." Her ears dropped, voice deflated. She hated it when she upsetted someone. It was the worst feeling in the world, seeing other cats unhappy.

Loki sighed and his ears dropped to his head, flattening themselves. His brow remained furrowed, and he found that he could snap easier than he pleased. He flicked his eyes back to Cleo, yet his head remained angled toward the ground, tilted just a bit. "Its not your fault." 58 MADE BY VEL OF GS AND ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

"It always is." Cleo murmured, quiet, so she thought only she could hear. Cats didn't snap without reason; it was Cleo's fault. It had to be.

Loki came very close to stopping a foot. The pain had built up inside him after many, many years, and it had made him nearly senseless. That mask he once bragged about was fading, and he had to find it again. Finally, he turly looked back to her. "Cleo, it truly wasn't. You weren't behind the anger, its not for you to endure. My rage is not yours to deal with, and I shouldn't have snapped at you." That was about as close to an apology as Loki would ever get. 93 © to Vel
