I've wasted time, I've wasted breath Calista narrowed her eyes. Launa was probably the one cat who could successfully disappear from her. She knew the cat hadn't acctually left for good. Launa wouldn't promise to help her and then leave. And Launa would never leave without saying goodbye.
Alas, Launa was not there and Cloudy was still asleep, leaving her with nothing to do but find and confront her brothers. Sure she could hold it off for a bit longer, but she knew that wouldn't do anyone any good.
Tracking down Loki was easy, but mentally preparing to have a conversation openly? That took a few moments. Taking a deep breath she slowly approached her brother. "Loki." she said cautiously, "We need to talk."
Nothing could have prepared her at the fear she felt along with those words. The fear evident in her voice. It was one of the purest forms of fear there was. It was fear of rejection. It was fear that she would bring up any of her past memories and Loki wouldn't accept her for them. Her actions over the years had been terrible. She wouldn't accept herself for them if she gave herself the option. Loki was more understanding though.
She wasn't so sure she'd even have to share her past. Maybe she could get away with not. But her brothers deserved to know the truth, so the truth she would tell them. She just wasn't sure how to go about it.
The lines of a song in her tounge rang in her ears; 'Tíðin rennur sum streymur í á, Eða Du skal kravle, før du kan gå.
Båtlaus mann er bunden til land, Kunna ensam är stark, Kunna gammel kjærleik rustar ikkje.
Bara döda fiskar följer strömmen, Eða Kemst þó hægt fari.
Ber er hver að baki nema sér bróður eigi, Eða gammel kjærleik rustar ikkje. Gammel kjærleik rustar ikkje.'
The song basically said time was fast and you had to do everything step by step. The easy path was for those who would end up dead and a brotherless man is broke. Love never corroded.
Gammel kjærleik rustar ikkje. Old love doesn't corrode. That was the line she needed to keep in mind, the line her mother had more often than not emphasized. That was the line that rang strongest in her ear that day. That was the line that would give her courage. She doesn't know Thor left yet. template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

Loki stood in the long, golden grass as it swayed gently against his pelt in the cold, autumn breeze. It was that time between night and day, not exactly dawn, but getting close. Thoughts raced through his mind as energy coursed through his veins, his muscles unusually tense as he stood ridged, barely feeling the tickle of the seeds. His shoulder protruded out of his back and his tail hung low, unmoving. His head hung in a tense way, and his eyes were fixed straight ahead, their green glow bright as his pupils were as small as they possibly could be. Lately, he'd been looking more insane than he truly was. When his sister came up behind him, his ears flicked back and nearly laid against his skull. Slowly, he turned his head, his neck following behind it like some sort of tense snake, yet he remained extremely ridged. His eyes were still trained straight ahead, his mouth open in a psychotic way. Finally, he flicked his eyes up to meet hers, a hint of blue (or red? Cant decide) fading out of them. Something was certainly and obviously wrong. "Whatever you have to say," Loki started, his eyes flicking back down again. "Say it quickly." He knew what was happening, and he didn't want Cali to see, to know. She had never seen him the way he was, his true self. That self had only been shown to his father, and merely temporarily, twice. 243 © to Vel

I've wasted time, I've wasted breath Calista's mouth tightened slightly. She had spent enough time in the realm of the angles to know a changling when she saw one shifting. She wasn't sure what in the world he was, but she had seen the glowing eyes and that was all she needed to know he was most certainly a changling.
"I wanted to tell you the truth surrounding my faked death in the fire and what came after, but this is more important." she said. "So what would it be? Elf? Draug?" She didn't mean to persecute her brother, simply to help, and she hoped that showed in her voice. She had dealt with changlings in the past, she had even raised one knowing what they were, and she could deal with it again.
Her history is very complicated. template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

Loki gave a chuckle as he turned his head back, raising it up like a cobra ready to strike. He turned, elegantly, much as a river would, to face her, the green in his eyes shining. There was no use hiding the truth now that she'd seen. "Oh, Cali. Did you presume that I was some sort of... changeling? Hiding from you all these years... tricking our family and the rest of the land? Oh... no. If only..." He let his gaze trail off as if he was distracted, grieved, and when he turned his pupils back to his little sister, he smiled, though it gave off the vibe of someone who had known pain as the only true thing in their whole life. "I've stayed hidden I know not how," he continued, beginning to pace back and forth before her. He first turned left, right to Cali, and nearly strutted in a very swaggy way, his head high. When he turned, his head lowered again, closer to the level of hers. (Assuming height.) "Your father had this brilliant plan that one day, I might become to king of my people and the two realms would be united together, as the two kings would be brothers. But that vision crashed and burned." He spat out the last sentence to the ground, before turning again and coming to a rest in front of her, fully facing her in his height, gazing down at her. "He failed to share his plans, and as the two brothers grew up, he knew they wouldn't succeed, and my dreams were thrown away like ragdolls, because he could never have a frost giant as king." After spitting out that last sentence, his face relaxed once more and he resumed his calm exposure. "It seems it was never my place. And now you know who I truly am... I'm the monster queens tell their kits about at night." He failed to tell her his faltering appearance dissolved under the cold, or that he hadn't known about it himself until around three or so years ago. 351 © to Vel

I've wasted time, I've wasted breath Calista returned Loki's smile with one equally pain filled, but quickly cover her pain, something that had taken her years to learn but she could now do quite smoothly. "Loki... When I told Thor he does not know me, those were not just words of anger. You both don't truly know me." she said slowly, "You knew me for a short few years, but, for the most part, I wasn't raised with you. Asgard traditions were acctually long lost to me for a while. I am not a true Asgardian. I do not hate Frost Giants. I was raised and trained to properly fight as I can today by the Angels. You may not... acctually, I believe you do know this, but Frost Giants are long time friends and allies of Angels. Trust me, in my minds eye, being a Frost Giant is much better than being any Asgaurdian." she practically spat the last word.
"How would you remember this time? I was going by.... Oh, yes. I was going by Angela at that point in time. A few cloaking spells were on my appearance, but it was still me. The true me. I remember, you destroyed a whole fleet while you were in our realm. I did quite hate you then. A boy cherading as an Angel, and worse, taking my place as lead of the hunt. Oh yeah, and then you inadvertently got me banned from my home realm." she chuckled, "Nothing for Nothing though, and you've already repaid your debt. In all technicality I was acctually repaying mine then for taking your daughter off the throne of Hel."
Cali chuckled when Loki revealed what he thought his father's plan had been all along. "My dear brother. Did your father tell you that? How do Asgardians do it? They serve their king in return for this stupid honor, which is bad enough, and yet they take it a step further and follow along with his lies. Now, my Queen isn't much better but at least she acctually pays us with tangible treasures." she shook her head. "To begin with he never planned to have you or Thor on the throne. He planned to have the one not adopted or born out of wedlock. But I didn't want to and I fled the realm and he locked me in my new home. It was only after I ruined those plans that he came up with that typical Asgardian idea to put one of his sons on the throne."

Loki's face gave that cruel smile once more, until she mentioned the king of Asgard again. "He was not my father." He took a menacing step forward. "I murdered my true father before the eyes of the one who called himself my father. He was a lie, nothing like me, and I shall never be like him. Asgardians and all their glory, its vile, hideous. And I would never follow along with his plans." With grace like no other, Loki stepped back and sat down, peering down at her with a slightly bored expression. "Oh all yourself what you'd like, but you were born an Asgardian, and nothing can change that. Now about the fire, I have long since gotten over that, and have known for sometime you faked your death, or else you would not be standing here today. You have given me enough information that I can trace through and assume why, but I shall have to say, I might be glad you did." 200 sorry to disappoint but i'm playing as loki who has no children. I saw an interesting theory that Hela was loki's birth mother, and i might want to role with that idea. © to Vel

I've wasted time, I've wasted breath "I am not an Asgardian of blood and never confuse me for one." Calista spat, "I am Vanir of blood. My father may be an Asgardian, but it is my mother that I take after." she paused for a moment before shaking her head.
"This isn't why I came. The last thing I need is to get you to persecute me as well in an attempt at peace." she said in a nearly inautable voice. Continuing, she spoke louder, "I had everything planned out and it was not to make an enemy. If I wanted to make an enemy of you I would just avoid you more." she scorned herself.
"Look, Loki. I came because this is stupid. The whole thing is stupid. I was recently given a reminder that even if it drives you crazy, and even if it's hard, love is what really matter in life, and keeping that love? That should be a life mission. I don't want to argue anymore. I don't want any of this any more. The secrecy, everything. At first it was to protect you, but you don't need protection. You and Thor have been handling what life gives you longer than I have."
(Sorry. Just pretend Cali is very out of the loop on all that and saying Hela was Loki's daughter based on rumors she had heard.)

Loki listened to her words, his ears twitching every once in a while, the only thing that gave away his emotions. At last, when she finished, they perked slightly, and he gave the hint of a smile. "Indeed we might have. However, for as long as i've known you, you possess a fire that neither Thor nor I could ever have, and that is why I respect you." He wasn't sure if those were the right words, but at least they weren't argumentative words. It truly was a compliment, one of those rare things that ever came from his mouth. 102 that was hella lowkey, leesee... © to Vel

I've wasted time, I've wasted breath Calista gave a small smile. "Thanks Loki. That's really nice of you. Especially when you don't know practically any of the reason why I have that fire." she responded, "In fact, I think Launa's the only cat who really knows why..." she mused, not exsactly meaning to say it out loud.

"I may not," Loki responded, tipping his chin up in the slightest. Then she mentioned a name he did not know, and his ear twitched with slight curiousity. He did not want to mention anything, though he knew how well Cali could read body language. He had no need to ask. 53 © to Vel

I've wasted time, I've wasted breath Calista considered a moment before responding. "Launa is... my closesed friend. We've been through litterally everything imaginable together, and we know each other very well. She's the one I went to visit when I was gone for a moon to give Thor space. She's the closest thing I have to a sister. She dropped by and reminded me that all that I'm holding on to and keeping away from you doesn't matter if it means losing you and Thor again."

Loki let a paw slide across the grass before the two of them, his black paw pads gliding over the soft, yellow fronds. "It's nice you have someone like that. Where has she gone off to?" Either Cali's friend was here now, or far away, as Cali made it sound. If she had to travel to see her friend, Launa couldn't possibly live here, could she? If she did, wouldn't Loki have already met her? 77 © to Vel

I've wasted time, I've wasted breath Calista shrugged. "She's somewhere around here. She's just dropping in for a visit though. Due to... very confusing circumstances she can't live here and I can't live there." she said.

Loki's ears twitched once more. He knew he was venturing into cold waters, possibly, but the cold never bothered him. He was a frost giant. "There?" He asked with the slightest twinkle in his eye, and the smallest smile playing on his lips. 45 © to Vel

I've wasted time, I've wasted breath Calista shrugged. "Where ever she is living. She was origionally an Anchorite, so she's far from a fighter, and I seem to attract danger so it's far to dangerous from here." she responded.
