(If you interrupt, I will come to your house, and eat your brains.)
Darkstar trotted into the clearing with Prairiepaw close behind her. It was time for the apprentices assessment, the day Darkstar had been waiting for!
"My apprentice," she said as they both stopped, "I think you have trained well, and I believe it is time for your assessment. What I want you to do, is catch as much prey as you can. The catch is, I won't be standing with you, but I will be watching you from the shadows. If you see me, you will ignore me, and continue your training. Remember, this is the last thing you need to do before you become a warrior, and if you mess this up, I can always keep you longer. The most important thing though, is to have fun."

"Begin whenever you want to," Darkstar said. "Just make sure it is within the next moon." Darkstar trotted off until she was out of sight of Prairiepaw, but she made sure that she herself could see her.

*she took a deep breath and scented the air for prey. she found a mouse a couple feet away, she made sure she was downwind before she stalked it light on her feet. she killed it swiftly and burried it before continuing. she did the same with a another mouse and a squirrel that had ventered from treeclan territory*

Darkstar followed behind her apprentice as she was successfully finding prey. She made note of how many animals that she had caught.

*prairiepaw found a rabbit and could feel herself becoming even more happy at the thought of a good chase. she got closer to the unsuspecting rabbit then she leaped at it with outstreched claws killing it before she had a chance to chase it. she burried it and searched for more*

Noticing her apprentice stop hunting, she turned and ran to where she had buried her first prey.

(Okay.)
"You did well, Prairiepaw," Darkstar mewed her praise. "I can tell that you will be an important asset to FireClan." Now let's see if she will stay, or desert us like everyone else seems to do, she thought to herself. She was sure that this apprentice would do well hunting for the fast approaching Leafbare, which was something Darkstar was grateful for. A big clan means there is more mouths to feed, which means a shortage of prey could happen more easily.
