Blackberry sunk into the tall grass, his eyes focused on a nearby prairie mouse that was feeding on a nut. He started to creep up to it, balancing his wight carefuly upon his paws so he could not be heard. Now, barely a tail-length away from the mouse, Blackberry ducked down so his haunches were in position to execute a leap. Checking one last time if he was down-wind; better safe than sorry!, he leaped onto the mouse and slayed it with one swift bite.
The mouth-watering aroma slowly crept into his mouth, and Blackberry almost wolfed it down there. Luckily, he knew better than to ruin the plan so he began to dash away quickly, the mouse still dangling from his jaws.
