Leafbelly set off from camp for his hunting patrol. He was determined to prove himself as a new warrior, and now he could by bringing back fresh kill for his clan. Immediately, he spotted a mouse not far off. He dropped into his hunters crouch, his weight balanced equally between all four paws. The mouse did not detect him, and when it did it was too late. Leafbelly pounced, killing the mouse with a quick bite. He dug a hole and buried the mouse, leaving it so he could hunt some more. Once the mouse was under the ground he sprinted off in search of more prey.
Near some rocks he saw a vole, which was his personal favourite. He crouched low to the ground, his tail tucked in, and began to creep forwards slowly. With each pawstep Leafbelly could taste the vole more and more, until he couldn't resist any longer. He sprang and landed hard. The vole was his second catch of the day. Leafbelly buried the vole like he had done with the mouse and began his search once again for more prey. This time, it would be his last.
Leafbelly decided to bring back some birds for IceClan, so he found the nearest tree and began to climb. He dug his claws for a good grip and pulled himself up the tree so he was resting on a branch. He saw a fat pidgeon on the edge of the branch above him, so quietly he leapt up onto the same branch for a better view. The pidgeon was looking upwards, as if it expected an attack from the sky. Leafbelly saw his chance and walked carefully along the branch, his belly sliding across the bark. When he was close enough he pounced, his claws grabbing the pidgeon and drawing it closer. He finished it with a bite then retreated back down the tree, his prey in his jaws.
Leafbelly ran back to all the previous spots he had been to and dug up his other kills. When he returned back to camp, he had a mouse, a vole and a pidgeon to add to the fresh kill pile.
