Just a Cough

[Oakspirit]

Oakspirit walked into the medicine cat's den. She saw Crystalglow sorting herbs in a corner. Stiffling a cough, she padded over to her. "Sorry to disturb you, Crystalgow," she spoke in her soft, musical mew, ragged with cough. "I've come down with a bit of a cold, and I didn't want the kits to catch it." She coughed, unable to stiffle it. It was the kind of dry cough that rattled your chest. She winced as it irritated her already sore throat and the pain in her right ear. Oakspirit stumbled slightly. Her balance was off. ((This is what my cold is like right now. ><))

[rosespirit]

(rainfeather) i glanced up from my nest at oakspirit and smiled sympatheticly in a cat-like way "you're in here too?"

[Oakspirit]

"Its nothing serious. You just rest. Moonpool, Gentleheart and the others are worried sick about you. No pun intended,"

[Fernpelt]

Fernpelt, still outside hissing at Moonpool heard this, but did not turn around.

[Crystalglow]

When Crystalglow heard Oakspirit's cough she made another nest for her. She walked over and touched Oakspirit lightly with her tail. "Come over here, I will soon get you better." She then went over to her herb storage and brought some coltsfoot, lavender, elder berries, and feverfew. "I can't give you poppy seeds for you are still nursing kits I presume?" While she was talking she got some moss and soaked in a pool in the den.

[Oakspirit]

"All three os us are all nursing kits." Oakspirit smiled in spite of the cough. "Are all these herbs nessesary for just a cough?" she asked, eyes wide in wonder. She turned her head as another coughing fit raked though her body.

[Crystalglow]

She smiled, "Well we don't want it to get any worse than it is. We don't want the entire Clan sick do we?" She handed over the lavender. "Eat this it will help stop your coughng. The rest of these will wipe out any other sickness that could be going on."

[Oakspirit]

Oakspirit nodded and licked up the herbs. They were bitter, but she ate them with a brave face, unlike those warriors who rushed into battle fearless and cried at the taste of herbs. Swallowing the last leaves she looked up at Crystalglow. "Do you think I should stay the night here, or could I go back to the nursery. I don't want the kits to get sick, some are still very small."

[Crystalglow]

She nodded in agreement, "I think it would be for the best. Tell me if you need any water or fresh-kill. I will be sorting some herbs." She walked over to her herbs once again and started sorting.

[Oakspirit]

Oakspirit nodded. She walked over to the nest Crystalglow had made earlier. Settling down, she closed her eyes for a nap.

[Rainfeather]

i stretched my limbs and winced slightly as i stretched my wounds as well. i quickly curled back up and glanced at my pelt, it was some what sticky from all the pollituces that fernpelt had put on it.

[Leopardfire]

Leopardfire padded in. "I can take care of your kits Oakspirit" She told her friend.
