Mothkit ran into the elders' den and sat down. "Can you tell me a story?"

Fallenpetal was strolling past the cold, damp, unused den when she heard Mothkit, the newest kit of the clan. Fallenpetal stopped, and smiled at the kit sympatheticly. Mothkit would be disappointed.
"Mothkit," Fallenpetal strolled in slowly, wrapping her tail around the kit. "There are no elders here at the moment. They all passed away before you were born."
Mothkit looked up at Fallenpetal, her glossy blue eyes filled with unhappiness and sorrow.
"But don't worry, one day I will be an elder. In fact, I have lots of stories I can tell you. I'm not that old, but I have done a whole lot of things in my life time."
Fallenpetal sat down getting comfy, ready to tell a story.
"Now, I know a story you would like. Before you were born there was a HUGE battle between all the clans. It all started for no reason at all! Rockclan, Fireclan and Iceclan tried to chase Treeclan out of the forest. (this is a true story by the way!) How about that?"

Secretkit pricked her ears as her friend Fallenpetal talked to Mothkit. She overheard about Fallenpetal telling a story. She leaped in like an antelope. "Tell us, Fallenpetal, tell us!" She yelped in excitement. The war sounded interesting, oh how she would have loved to be in a war like that, being able to fight for clan!

"Well, it was all started by Darkstar, and Rockclan were forced to do it. I think Darkstar wanted to test us on our power. We are the largest clan." Fallenpetal actually did wonder if there really WAS a good reason, deep inside Darkstar's head. She had come and tried to stop it because there was no reason, but what if there was? Fallenpetal had a large urge to seek out more answers... "Well, Fireclan and Iceclan planned together to invade the camp, and chase out the clan. Rockclan had not agreed, but Fireclan chased them into the scene and forced them to fight against us. I was out hunting at the time, but me and the patrol came back the instant we heard fighting. The fight was already deep into battle. It was raining hard and it was hard to see. I was trying to stop the battle because as far as I was concerned, there was no proper reason for war. I believed that war was meant to protect your clan, not put it in danger. Do you agree? Anyway, the water levels were slowly rising..."
