It was indeed a harmless, and greatly used question. A great conversation starter. But he hesitated since his Clan now resided in TreeClan it was hard to say how the prey was back home. "Quite well actually. How is prey running in IceClan?" He asked politeness etched in his vocals.

Raingaze thought back to when IceClan was back at their rightful home. "The prey is good. It is plentiful and my clan is thankful for it." She chose her words carefully, not wanting to lie nor exaggerate.

Batclaw dipped his head to Raingaze. "That is good. It seems like CloudClan is blessing all the Clan's." The lie slipped out with ease, he had to do this for his Clan.

"It sure seems that way." Raingaze agreed. She could lie when she wanted to. The tabby looked around quickly then turned back to Batclaw. "I heard we weren't the only ones affected by the avalanche." She spoke calmly, her tail tip twitching slightly.

She padded over, "You weren't. Not if you please, our clan doesn't need a 20 question quiz! Come on Batclaw." She pads away from Raingaze. Her mew was dry and cold.

Willownight growled at Coalfire and lashed her tail angrily. "She was just trying to be nice Coalfire and besides, who are you to break up their conversation?"

The older cat spoke softly to the younger warrior, "We all need to keep our mouthes shout about what happened. If we let slip about what happened, we would look like complete weaklings for not being able to keep our own territory. Say nothing, about it. Answer questions short and simple, besides I need to ask him a question."

Batclaw was embarassed about how one of his fellow warriors had broken up the conversation. "Goodbye Raingaze. He politely dipped his had then trotted after Coalfire. "That was a mousebrained thing to do! I can handle other cat's on my own." He hissed green eyes burning with anger.

She flattened her ears, "When you have lived as long as I have out side of a clan, you instantly become suspicious of everyone, I'm sorry. But I needed to ask you a question, have you seen my apprentice Horridpaw? I haven't seen him since the avalanche and I'm worried. What if he got killed by the wolves?!" She spoke in a hushed tone her eyes seeming to drain of color. The long gash on her side suddenly flaring with pain making her wince slightly.

Batclaw's annoyance evaprated to be replaced by concern. He hadn't ever talked to Horridpaw, but he wouldn't want anything bad to happen to one of his Clanmates. "It's alright. As for Horridpaw I haven't seen hide nor hair of him." He replied softly feeling a pang of sympathy for the she-cat.

She gently bit her lip, "I hope he's okay..." She licked her side where it had started to bleed again. She would have to find Sunblaze later for new cobwebs. As she licked she mewed to Batclaw, "Did you know I was once a rogue and a loner, and even at one point I lived in the twoleg place?"

Batclaw shook his head. He had never really talked to Coalfire all that much, so he didn't know these things. "I don't remember you ever mentioning that before." His bright green eyes were sparkling with interest.

She shrugged, Coalfire had never really told anyone with the exception of her family and Solarshine about her past, "I could tell you about it, and it is a very long story. I doubt you want to hear it." Smiling softly she turned her head to him giving up on her injury. "But if you do want to hear it, I warn you have an open mind and try to see through my eyes." Coalfire's eyes sparkled. She had lived a long life, but never had she ever really 'fit in' as some would call it. She was defiantly being brave about telling Batclaw this. Some parts of her story where so sorrowful for her that she never spoke of them. This would be the first time she ever told her story if he accepted.
(If you want to hear the story, I will make a new thread for it. If you look to see when I join you'll understand why it will be so long. This is gonna be good. XD)
