Coalfire padded away from the other cats her wound bleeding slightly causing her to limp. Once out of hearing range she faced Batclaw, "Are you sure that you want to hear my story? I is very long.. and sad.."She turned her head from him for a moment.

Batclaw follwed the lithe black she-cat towards a more isolated area. Once they had both sat down she had faced him, unsure he truly wanted to hear her story. His greens eyes met hers, they shine with certainty. "Yes, I'm sure I want to hear it." The tabby tom replied with ease.

She sighed and began, "My life began as any kit's would. With birth. But unlike any of the other kits, I was an.... accident. My birth wasn't supposed to happen. Because, my mother is Sunblaze and my father, well. You see him a lot in the clan. He is at the gathering even now standing proud with the other leaders. Yes. Venomstar is my father. When me and my brother where born, Venomstar was Venomclaw. He was a great warrior, me and my brother Blackflame wanted to be just like him. But there was an accident a moon or so later after our birth. A cat named Gingernose came to the place my mother had hidden us, and accused her of being a mate stealer. She had said that me and my brother where not meant to be alive. That made me so scared." the fur along her shoulders rose with fear from that encounter. Tears had formed in her eyes, "I was so young, and she didn't know I was listening to the conversation. She tried to grab me but Sunblaze pushed her out of the way, and I fell down near a rock pile. She and Gingernose bumped into it sending a boulder down on my leg. It nearly crushed it, but they got me out on time. We both thought that it would never heal, but it did eventually. Sunblaze had taken me and my brother to the camp and gave us to our 'mothers' when we where apprenticed, Sunblaze got me, and another warrior from our clan took Blackflame. It was as my training began that thing got out of control." She paused and took a breath before continuing."After my third moon of training passed I sunk out of camp and into the rogues section. I met a loner that said life outside of clan boarders was so free. He certainly seemed to like it. I left RockClan for the first time when I became a full medicine cat. I lived by myself for some time. Then one day I heard about a mini clan called ChoasClan. It seemed interesting. By then I had been calling myself Moonshadow. I joined and met a cat- his name was Scars." She paused by now tears streamed down her face. "You know, I had almost forgotten how much it hurts. The loss.. Because after a while he got killed. By a two-leg monster. I left for a life as a loner by that time. I still miss him." She sighed as more tears came. "After many moons alone I came across an abandoned two-leg nest. I was Coalfeather then. I moved into an abandoned twoleg nest. I lived there for many moons until the twolegs set fire to it. I was trapped inside!" She paused again then continued, "A large piece of wood had fallen on me. I called and called thinking on one would help me. But then Solarshine saved my and brought Sunblaze to heal me. I felt whole again when they brought me home. And here I am now." She sighed and looked at her paws.

During the entire story Batclaw had still tail curled around his paws. He hadn't tried to comfort Coalfire when she began to cry, sometimes it was good to let it out. Now that it was over he was left with a feeling of utter sadness. This she-cat had endured so much pain, and sufering yet had to pretend it was fine. No, he certainly didn't agree with her choir to leave RockClan but she had come back which took guts. In the end Coalfire had earned respect from the young warrior. "Well Coalfire you certainly have had a hectic life. But I thank-you for sharing it." His low meow was calm, and a warm smile formed on his muzzle.

She kept her eyes on her paws and nodded. Lost in memories. She looked up and mewed, "Thanks for listening. I- I needed to speak. To tell someone. I was about to burst. I didn't think I could hold it in any longer." She licked her shoulder. The small trickle of blood running down her leg.

Batclaw dipped his head in understanding. "I assure you it is perfectly normal to have those feelings. It must feel like a burden is lifted from your shoulders." In truth the young warrior had never really had anything drastic happen in his life. But he somehow could relate.
