Scarlet Moon
Prologue
"Ch-Chissy?! Papa?! Mama?!" A girl with blue hair like the the sky called down a dark alley. The alley looked like it was made of shadows when you first looked at it. The girl grimaced at the thought of going in there. Besides the fact that men could beat her up for being young and alone,there was another trait that seperated her from anyone else: the fox ears atop her pretty head and the plume of a tail the stuck out of her like a giant feather. She took a step,feeling fear crawl up her spine. She began to cry,the warm salty tears streaming down her rosey cheeks. "Chissy! Chissy!"She called out desperately for her sister,but the cries were hopeless. Her sister had left her,along with her parents. She let out a mournful cry into the sky,the wind picking up the tune throughout the city,the moon and stars twinkling dully.
Chapter 1
A girl with brown hair and blue eyes trembled slightly as a buff teacher pulled her into his classroom. Nervousness made her stomach churn,giving her the usual sick feeling when you were nervous. She gasped slightly as he said in a deep voice,"Class,this pretty girl here is August. I want you all to treat her like you would want to be treated. This girl came from the Americas,and here in Japan should be very confusng to her. Akita,I want you to help her around the school." A girl with brown hair and green eyes looked up from where her head was laid on her desk."Yeah yeah,whatever you say Sensei." The teacher nodded at the girl and then a desk next to her. August slowly made her way next to the girl,and sat in the desk. She fiddled with some paper that had been giving to her when she had started attending this school,and now she signed her name where it said,'Student Signature Here'. She stacked them and placed it in her Vera Bradley handbag. As she glanced around the room,she noticed that no other students had the same things she had,and she hadn't been given a school uniform yet. I must look like a freak...she thought,embarrassed. She looked down sadly at her desk,another thing nagging her thoughts.There are more reasons why I could be called a freak... She sighed quietly,letting the negative emotions run through her system. Wh-Why did I have to be a vampire? Why?! Her head shot up as the bell rang,the annoying noise ringing throughout the school. Kids pushed and pulled as they all charged out of the classroom,trying desperately to get back home. She sighed again as she placed books and papers in her bag,then stopped abruptly as she felt someone poke her shoulder. She snapped around to see that that girl Akita was behind her,her green eyes friendly."Why hello there August! I'm supposed to be your helper! Well,that was the dismissal bell,so that means school's over!" August stared off into space as Akita blabbered on about the school rules and whatnot. Luckily,August had already read them on a hand out she had recieved before she had began attending. She gasped as a blue color caught the sight of one of her eyes,and she looked past Akita to see what it was. Excitement churned in her as a thought popped in her head.It could be her..."Hey,woohoo! New girl,you okay?" August turned her attention back to Akita as the green eyed girl grabbed her out of her trance."You seem to have dozed off. Bad daydream?"
August shook her head,embarrassed."N-No,I just thought I saw someone I recognized.."
"Oh,I see! You probably saw that hot guy!" Akita laughed loudly,the noise echoing around the empty room."Don't want to burst your bubble,but I don't think you're cut out for him!"
"What's that supposed to mean?!" August exclaimed angrilly. Who was this girl thinking she was messing with,anyway? She sighed then said,"Forget it. I don't have time to deal with drama." She whipped around,making sure some of her hair whacked Akita's face,and stompped out of the classroom. A few minutes later,she stepped out into the school's main square. Boys and girl chatted with each other,seeming to be having a good time. She sighed as she exited the school area onto a dirt road leading to the apartments where many of the colledge students stayed. What seemed like hours later,but was probably only twenty minutes,she arrived at her room and opened the door. She stepped into her living room,slamming the door shut behind her. She flopped onto her couch and covered her face with a pillow,letting loose tears fall down her face. Life just wasn't fair,and where was that brat anyway? She needed to find her soon,just to end her suffering. She sniffed and wiped away her tears,her blue eyes turning into a scarlet blood color. She was hungry,and she was going to get what she wanted right now. And what she wanted was actually closer than she thought.
Chissy: Japanese nick-name meaning"sister".
So how is it? Critique,please. Should I continue it?
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I got the idea and characters from a website I joined.
