Drying Herbs

[Fernpelt]

Fernpelt exited her den with many herbs in her jaws. She had left Rainfall alone for a bit since she was asleep. The reain had gotten in her coltsfoot, and she was drying them out. She straightenedd each leaf and set it on a slab of stone. The work was tedious, and she wished she knew where Crystalglow was.

[Sparkpaw]

Sparkkit ran up to Fernpelt. "Hi Fernpelt! What are you doing?"

[Fernpelt]

Fernpelt took a quick glance at Rootkit, though she knew it was her without looking. Fernpelt had a wonderful sense of hearing and smell. "Just drying out some coltsfoot that got soaked in the rain. I don't want it to go bad or lose its healing juices," she explained.

[Sparkpaw]

(Sorry! I changed my name to Sparkkit to bring back my old account!) Sparkkit looked at the medicine cat with interest "How did they get wet? Was there a leak?" She asked Fernpelt

[Fernpelt]

"Well, Sparkkit, I don't think there was a leak, but I do imagine some naught apprentices stuck balls of wet moss in my herbs again," Fernpelt mewed with a frown. once in a while they would do that, but Fernpelt admitted there might be a leak in her storage shelves.

"Would you help me check my shelves for a crack in just a moment?" Fernpelt asked Sparkkit.

[Sparkpaw]

"Sure! I'd love to help!" She smiled and padded into the den with Fernpelt to check for leaks

[Leoparddash]

Leopardash trotted up to Fernpelt and meowed a friendly greeting. "Hi Fernpelt." She was feeling alot better now, thanks to Fernpelt. She sat down, notcing Sparkkit and she just nodded. "Do you need any help, Ferny?" She purred.

[Fernpelt]

"Oh, yes, that's be great! You and Sparkkit can check my coltsfoot shelves for leakage. Fernpelt took a break from the drying herbs and walked into her den. She waved ehr tail in the direction of the coltsfoot storage. "Over there. Make sure that if you find it you stuff it well," Fernpelt mewed.

[Sparkpaw]

Sparkkit called back over her shoulder "Okay Fernpelt!" and then squeezed her way into the storage with all the herbs and began to check for cracks. A few moments later she saw a small crack with water dripping through it on the colstfoot shelf. She ran out of the storage and ran to grab some moss. Sparkkit ran back and stuffed the little bit of moss into the crack and called to Fernpelt "I filled the crack in the Coltsfoot shelf!" She backed out of the den and walked up to Fernpelt "Do you want me to check for more?"

[Fernpelt]

Fernpelt was shocked that Sparkkit had filled it so quickly and deftly. "Oh, um, yes. Thank you," she flustered.

[Leoparddash]

As Sparkkit worked eagerly, she sniffed around the den. There was a small crack, where what smelt like Borage Leaves were piled up. Dew was trickling into the pile. She gently nudged it across. "Sparkkit, can you pass a bit of moss?" She meowed blinking at the kit.

[Sparkpaw]

"Sure!" She nudged a bit of moss towards Leoparddash and picked the Coltsfoot up and took it to Fernpelt "Here I think this needs to dry out since it got wet" Sparkkit set down the herb at Fernpelts paws and sat down

[Fernpelt]

"Thank you," Fernpelt mewed, and then quickly set it out to dry.

[Sparkpaw]

"Your welcome! Do you want me to get you a vole?" She asked the medicine cat as she set out the herbs

[Fernpelt]

Fernpekt snapped her head back up and her eyes shone. Would she! "Oh, uh, yes, yes!!! Definitely!" Fernpelt hurriedly mewed, afraid Sparkkit would take back the offer.
