Sigh. Life was so peaceful. Gentleheart was lying on her side, chest up, looking out of the near-empty elders. Spiritstep and herself seemed o be the only two elders in the Clan. She couldn't complain, since there wasn't much competition for the warmest sunning spots in camp! Gentleheart watched as apprentices and kits tumbled over each other in games, recognizing a few from scarce flashes of fur that proclaimed which nursing queen was their mother. Harrowingpride, Gentleheart's own daughter, seemed to be fairly busy lately, along with her former apprentice and best friend Leopardfire and her other close friend, Oakspirit. Gentleheart hadn't realized she had so many ties to the nursery until now!

I padded over with a vole in my jaws. I dropped it at her paws. "Gentleheart." I purred gently. "I brought you some prey. I caught it myself." I sat myself down next to her.

Gentlehart let out a purr in response to the young cat's. "Thank you, Tinywhisker." she purred, hooking the vole up with one claw.

Gentleheart smiled at the young cat. "Hello to you too Tawnyleaf. How are you today?" Gentleheart didn't seem to expect so much attention.

I purred. I seemed in the mood for a chat, except for a fact that I was extremely tired. How much sleep have I had since, like, three moos ago? I thought glumly. I yawned hugely and rested my head on my paws.
