The Newborn~
'All life starts with one simple breath . . .' The tiny calico kit was pushed from her mother's womb, the sack broke as she hit the ground with a dull thump. Carefully the tisues from the sack where cleaned away as the sharp, fridged air, filled her lungs in a sharp gasp. Wails spilled from her throat, fear spreading into her body.
The gentle rasp of her mother's tongue soothed her cries, warm milk scent circled around her body as she inched closer, her cries dulling into small whimpers. The kit's body was lifted into the air, a sharp, indignet cry, wrenching from her lips. After being set down next to her mother's warmth and milk scent. Inching her body forward she nuzzled into her mother's belly, latching onto a nipple she began to suckle. Pawing at her warmth to realise more milk.
A few minutes later she snuggled up against her mother, the kit's soft calico pelt pressed against her mother. The joy of being born.~

~Oh joy.~
Scorchkit had waited outside till the wailing had quit filling his black ears. Now it was all quiet, the tom decided to return to the Nursery. He slipped in, instiviticly looking over to Leopardfire's nest, and her single new-born kit.
A small calico she-kit, so fragile and small. Yet, a promising warrior. The black tom watched the kit suckle for a while, before heading to his nest. He laid down tucking his paws neatly under him, laying his head on the edge of the nest.
His silver-blue eyes watched the tiny kit, and for the first time in a long time. He hoped they would be friends later on.

The Newborn Truly Awakens~
'The child truly is born when the senses awaken . . ." It had been hours sense she had been born, nearly a full day. Her pelt was fluffy, and her hearing was already starting to become clear. Her tummy growled sharply as she moved forward, with more ease then before. Her muzzle nudged into her belly to suckle, her ears twitched back wards. Back to the new kit. Turning from her mother she opened her eyes, the child siting across from her was solid black, with a splotch of orange. She didn't know it but her eyes were soft blue, intense, but soft. Still silent, she watched him, blinking every few moments. She opened her maw and spoke, her voice soft and whispered, "H-hello, wh-h-h-o a-are you-u?" her speech was broken, but still understandable.

~Torment me with the eyes of an angel~
Not once had he moved from his spot, nor a word spoken. His eyes had actually been drooping into sleep when a soft whispery broken voice swirled in his mind. Silver-blue orbs opened again slowly, looking at the newborn kit.
Soft, intense, blue eyes stared back at him, disturbed by a blink here and there. Thats where the voice had came from, the small calico kit a few nests away. Scorchkit felt his heart flutter. The only other time he ever felt this much joy was with his sibling, Spiderkit.
"Scorchkit, nice to meet you, Harekit." He mewed in reply, softly, as not to scare the kit. His black tail waved in greeting slowly. Yet the tom remained in his spot.

The Newborn Is Awoken~
'A child is an angel, with wings of silver and gold . . .' The kit, whom was apparently named Harekit. She tested it on her tongue, "H-harekit. That is my name? And you are Scorchkit, correct?" She was still trying to get the hang of the concept of speaking. The tom that sat before her seamed nice, barely a day old and she already had a friend. Trembling she stood up, wanting to move her stiff limbs. Carefully stretching her paws out in front of her she stood, her paws splayed to support her weight for the first time.
Her little heart pounded so fast, her legs trembled ever so slightly, taking a step forward the little kit stumbled slightly but stayed on her paws. After walking around a bit she sat down near him, curling her tail neatly around her paws, she spoke to him again, her whispered voice growing stronger, "Do you want to play? Or talk?" Kits have a vast, yet small, knowledge, some stems from words they pick up from other, or the facts already embedded into their minds.

~But they can take on small wingless shapes~
Scorchkit had unfolded one paw, lifting his head up, ready to help the new born kit, if need be. Already it seemed the kit could walk and talk, and just after almost a day of birth. He settled back down unfolding his other paw, letting them droop over the edge of the nest.
He nodded as an answer to her first question, smiling ever so faintly. A rare occasion from the little orange patched tom. As for her second question He simply clawed a little bit of the nest here and there, before rolling it into a oddly shaped ball.
Scorchkit kicked it over to her lightly. It was a small game, but it would give the calico kit something to do for a little while.

The Newborn Is Now Alive~
'Sometimes the sinners are truly innoccent . . .'The little kit batted at the small ball of moss, sending it flying back to him. Her bright blue eyes shinning. Every thing was so big and lightfilled so much different to the silent world of darkness she had encountered as a meir newborn. Colors leaped befor her eyes. Sounds battered her ears, and scents tickled her nose. What wonders where there out in the world?

~fireflies dance in those blue eyes~
A small purr escaped him as he swatted the ball back lightly. Purr? Now what was wrong with this isolated kit. He's rarely smiled or purr and here he was doing both. Crazy.
Scorchkit's black tail waved slowly, he was contented for now, calm and quiet. Actually enjoying the newborn's presence.
"Maybe I can show you the camp tomorrow." He stated looking toward the entrance.

Road to Warriorhood~
'A Child wishes to be older, an Elder wishes to be a child . . .'
The little cali shuffled her paws, "I would love to, but I must ask my mother to go first. ." She glanced back at Leopardfire, and back to her new friend, Scorchkit. Smiling, a soft purr rumbled through her chest, Harekit swatted the moss ball back to Scorchkit.

Nearly an Apprentice; Far from a Child
'Rather than being alone, be surrounded . . .'Spiderkit padded into the Nursery, a mouse limp in her jaws. Planning to share it with her brother, she saw two things. First was her brother play with a kit, smiling at the little newborn. Second was the soft purr she heard. She knew it was her brother, she felt his happyness. The strange tangable link between the pair.
The scent of the mouse warmed her, the cold from the camp and the forest beyond had chilled her to the bone. Giving her brother a soft nudge before sitting beside him. Dropping the mouse from her jaws she mewed, "I brought a mouse to share with you if your hungery." She smiled lightly, a chuckle slipped from her maw, her eyes shinning at him.

~Take the secret path~
Scorchkit's smile widened just the slightest bit, his blue eyes sparking faintly. This tom was showing way to much emotion in a spare moment, it wasnt like him. Anyways.
He swatted the ball back, his paw outstretched and ready.

A few minutes had gone by, before he heard the faint sounds of his sister. The smell, sound, and touch. His silver-blue eyes darted iin her direction, cheerful, as she sat down beside him. His eyes followed the mouse as it fell to the ground, then jumped back up to his sister. "You always come at the right time." He meowed, nudging her shoulder gently with his nose. "This is, Harekit, Harekit, this is Spiderkit." Scorchkit introduced the two she-kits, calmly.

--Who’s this?--The tiny silver kit looked with immense, sapphire eyes at her den-mates, hearing their conversation.
Getting up onto her tiny paws, she sauntered over, still weary after her nap.
Glancing at the petite calico kit, she sat down. “Hello,” Her mew was more a squeak. “I’m Echokit, pleased to meet you.” Sweeping her feathery tail across the ground, her jaws gaped in a yawn, her pink tongue lolling out.
With the downy silver tabby fur, eyes like pools of sapphire; cute was an understatement. But soon enough she would grow out of the fluffy stage, and have a sleek, lithe pelt like the apprentices. No one would dare mess with her then. Not even a FireClan warrior.

The Comfort Breaks Like A Storm~
'Never underestimate a she-cat with a grudge . . .'
Spiderkit looked at the other kit with eyes that didn't care. She didn't want anymore friends. She just wanted to sit with her brother and, what was her name, oh yes, Harekit! No one else could take up room in her life. No one else was needed thank you! She rolled her eyes and nodded to her, turning her body, and attention to her brother and Harekit.

'All childeren have predijuce . . .'The little kit walked closer to Scorchkit, her eyes drooping with sleep. Curling up next to him and Spiderkit, she set her head down near his paws. As the new kit came over, and instantly disliked her. Her squeaky voice, her pelt, her scent. It made her dizzy, and scared. Pressing her nose to his fur to get rid of the scent, fear spilled from her pelt. She began to sheak slightly. Not liking to be over crowed.

~Do you know what you just did!?~
His silver-blue eyes losing happiness as they flashed toward Echokit hard. Why couldnt she had just stayed asleep? His eyes narrowed slightly as he replied indifferent, "Be more careful, she only a day old. You dont want Leopardfire ripping your whiskers out do you?"
Aye! What was with these cats lately. All they wanted to do was crowd him. Especially she-cats. His ears flattened, as he tucked his chin against his chest, controlling the almost faint rise of a growl in his chest.
Scorchkit placed a leg around, Harekit, gently, trying his best to calm the frightened kit. Silver-blue eyes glanced at Spiderkit, from the corner of his eyes. Unhappy.
The moss ball lay towards the center of the two nests. A unfinished game. Forgotten.

Friendship Doesn't Matter~
'Never doubt the faith of a sibling . . .' Spiderkit sighed and flicked her tail lightly, soon they would be apprentices, and then, then they would be out of the Nursery, free to train and become a warrior. Their little friend would have to wait for another six moons to join them, but who cares. They could still visit her! Teach her moves. Pressing to her brother she nearly snarled at the kit to leave, but she didn't she contained herself.

Fear Consums All~
'The mind of a child is impressionable to fear . . .'
Slowly she relaxed, and started to fall asleep, she day had been eventful, and bright. Never before had this happened, and every new experiance thrilled and terrified her. Was this what her new life was going to be like?

I padded over, looking a little angry. My expression completely softened when I saw the newborn fast asleep at Scorchkit's paws. "Scorchkit, I will take her to her mother. You need to rest yourself." I mewed quietly. Very gently, I took Harekit and laid her at Leopardfire's stomach.
