Hopepaw lifted her head to see cats walk in and out of the den. Different colors and sizes. But all cheerful. Now Hopepaw was the odd one out. She was not her cheerful self today. Ever since the previous day, Hopepaw had been out of sorts.

Skypaw walked up to the apprentice. "Is something up?" she asked. "I know we don't usually hang out, but you can tell me." Skypaw sat down, curling her tail neatly around erh apws.

Skypaw nodded understandingly. "Ahhh, well I might know what that feeling is. it's been happening to my friends for moons." she paused for effect. "That emotion.... is LOVE!!"

Skysong flicked hopepaw's ear with her tail. "Don't worry, this happens to everyone. You don't have to feel embarrased," she whispered, her face close to Hopepaw's "As to the rest of you, it'll happen to all of you some day so don't forget that you laughed at someone 'bout it when it does."
