The Flowing Winds:
Kiba; leader; A fiery competitive twelve-year-old girl with golden curls and muddy-gold eyes.
Dragon; Star-Prancer; A dragon with a real mouthy attitude. She has black scales with red accents and a white under-belly
Kate; Healer; A six-teen year old girl who loves adventures. She has soft brown hair and startling blue eyes.
Dragon; Scale-Wing; A generally fun dragon with white scales and an electric blue under-belly. She has scaled wings unlike most dragons who only have webbing.
Zack; Eldest; An eight-teen year old boy. He's like a brother to Kiba. He has dark brown spiky hair and fair skin.
Dragon; White-Claw; A no-nonsense drake (male dragon). He has ever-green scales and a cream under-belly. His claws a remarkable pearly-white.
Chapter one: The beginning
The Wind Academies? Never heard of them? Then they're doing their job... you'll see.
Kiba grinned as she mounted her black-and-dragon, Star-Prancer. "'Bout time." it thrummed in her head. The girl made no attempt to reply, the dragon knew just as well as she did that her father who was also the directer of the West Winds teams had banned riding for a few days because of a sighting of wild wytherns. They were clear of them now and Kiba's team, the Flowing Winds, planned to make the most of it.
Zack was the first to arrive, he led his classic colored green dragon by a rope. Kiba could tell his dragon was complaining even if it could only communicate with him. "hey Kiba," laughed Zack ruffling her golden curls, "I bet you can't beat White-claw and I across the lake!" he teased knowing very well she could. "Oh, your on!" she replied leaning into the huge saddle that her draped her dragon's back. "Ready, set, GO!" yelled Zack swinging onto White-claw (his dragon) and spurring him. Kiba smirked and gently kicked her heals against Star-Prancers middle where her legs hung.
The dragons were going so fast that when they dove into the lake an air bubble surrounded them. They kept up the pace and the air bubble stayed with them til they broke the surface, Star-Prancer first of coursed. "Yes!" chorused girl and dragon in each other's minds. Zack smiled at them and White-Claw thrummed a happy note to Star-Prancer. When the four-some looked over the missing members of the team were there, Kate and her white dragon Scale-wing.
Kate crossed her arms and tapped her fingers against one of them, "I thought you were waiting for me." she mock-pouted. Scale-Wing played along and fanned her wings. "Sorry," Kiba laughed. "That's okay, lets--" she was cut off as Kiba's father walked behind them, "I need a favor of you. Make sure the East Winds aren't on our territory," he paused as the children's eyes got wide, "I think it's only a rumor... I need you to check it out..." Kiba's muddy-golden eyes shone, "Yes father."
This was an important task, the East Winds were dangerous, they could steal hatching's, murder dragons, slaughter people and worse. Her team was chosen to do it, no one else's, and she was proud as a girl her size can be. She glanced behind her and saw Zack worrying a bit. Only did she realize this would not be fun and games...
