The patched she-cat moved through the undergrowth slowly, stalking a mouse. She was a few fox-lengths away, when a loud yowl was heard out of nowhere. She growled and bared her teeth at the black ball of fur that was flinging itself at her. She backed out of the way as her attacker looked up. Her former apprentice was watching her with glowing yellow eyes filled with amusement. “Hi, Quartzstar. Did I scare you?” She meowed innocently.
Quartzstar laughed and twitched her whiskers in amusement. “Yes Nightheart, you came out of nowhere! I didn’t notice you coming.” She replied. Then she focused back on her hunt. The mouse was gone, but the woods where stocked. Also where the fields, but there where only really ever rabbits to hunt there. Quartzstar focused on a bird sitting in a tree not far away, and pounced on it. She carried it back down to Nightheart, who was watching in amazment.
Nightheart let out an amazed purr, and bounced over to Quartzstar, and rubbed against her, a friendly gleam in her eyes. A loud call came through the woods. Nightheart pricked her ears and her eyes filled with affection. “Shadowheart wants me.” She mewed, and ran off to meet her mate.
Quartzstar watched her dark pelt as it slipped through the undergrowth. She twitched her whiskers in amusement, and turned back to her hunt.

As Diamondshine pushed her way into the den, Quartzstar could tell something wonderful had happened. “What is it?” She asked the small white she-cat.
Diamondshine stopped to catch her breath before bowing respectfully in front of her leader. “Windyfur had her kits.” She wheezed, still struggling slightly. “Lilackit and Crystalkit. They are small, but healthy.”
Quartzstar purred. “More warriors for Breezeclan!” She flicked her tail to motion Diamondshine to sit next to her. Diamondshine nodded, and took her place proudly. They shared tongues until the moon was in the sky.
Sharing tongues was a clan tradition. The cats groomed each other and chatted.
As Diamondshine began to tire, Quartzstar murmured a reminder to head to her den before falling asleep on her. Quartzstar padded outside, and gazed at the moon and stars. She could see her medicine cat,
