Okay, I've noticed that a lot of people have been having problems with the sizes of their images.
Now, some of you I understand, may not really know how to resize your pictures.
Others might think they understand, and think it needs some ridiculously complicated program.
I am here to give you your solution.
First off, go to this site. It has a quick and easy browser image editor. You don't need to make an account, your image will never be taken down, and the quality of the original image is preserved! What else could you really ask for?
imgur.com
Next, click the big "upload images" button at the top, and upload your picture… either by selecting it from your computer's files, or by pasting a direct image link for a picture that's already online.
You'll be taken to a new page with your image displayed. On the right side, there's a link to "edit image", click that.
Now you're ready to resize! Simply modify the dimensions and save it. Remember, the maximum size for everything in your signature is 600 wide by 400 high, so you'll probably want to make it around 250 to 350 pixels tall depending on how many lines of text you have. Just use your best judgement here, and go a little smaller if you think it might be too big.
On the side where you have options to "share this image", copy the option for BBCode/Forums. Then paste it into your signature and you're done! See how simple it all is?
If you want to get a little more complicated, you can make your signature automatically resize the picture. Just use the code below and toss your image link in the appropriate spot! Feel free to edit the height number so that it's perfect for your signature, I'm just using 300 pixels as the default. The image width will change with the height, so don't worry about having your picture squished.
Here's a quick example of that code in action!
Originally that image was 650 x 650, now it's 275 x 275.
And all is well with the boards!
Now you don't have to ask someone to resize images for you, or get in trouble with the staff team. Feel free to ask if you still have questions! Just message any staffer and they will be happy to assist. Please don't ask Harrowingpride for help though; someone else now owns this account and I'm sure they don't want to be bugged about pictures. <3
