Blood trickled down the sides of the toms' lips. His fur glittered in the moonlight, and the darkness around him gave him a chill that froze even his bones. Cyan blue eyes glittered off in the distance, and Snag thought it was just another passing loner. He shrugged off the feeling of the wind, and continued off towards his home, or, his temporary home. Snag never really had a home, moving to a new home ever time the moon reached it's fullest. A long, dark, path lay in front of him, hardened by the many paws that have trekked on the path before. The calls of birds echoed in the distance, bringing a sharp pain to the loners' ears. Stupid birds, Snag complained in his mind, closing his eyes for a moment. Images flashed through his mind, both the past and future. Snag gave a soft sigh as the images showed what emptiness his life would hold.
Continuing his trek, the cyan eyes flashed in his mind once more. What was that? Who was that? Not often did Snag see strange cats in the forest. He knew nearly every she cat and tom in the forest, even those who did know him. The brown tom was the watcher of the forest, which meant he kept watch for any possible danger. Along with keeping a look out, the tom often watched the cats that lived in the trees. Something shone in the distance, and curiosity got the better of Snag. Dropping his rabbit where he was sure it was safe, he ran to the object. It was a small collar, though it looked as if it would fit him. It had scratches on the leather, and looked as if some cat were trying to engrave something on it. Beside it, was a chain one, then a spiked one. What were they for, and where did they come from?
"You like any of 'em?" The words echoed through the trees, as if the forest were asking him.
Snag's ears pointed towards the sound, and his head lifted up, and panic pulsed through him, as if he were in trouble as a kitten.
Making sure his voice was firm, He snarled, "Show yourself, demon." In return, a small, deviant, laugh, echoed, just as the question did. Before him, as If a shadow was taking the form of a cat, a large, black cat stepped out of the shadows. His muscles rippled underneath his pelt, and his white tail gave a small flick of amusement. Though, what shocked Snag the most, was his cyan eyes. So this tom was the one that was following him?
The large tom laughed, Snag tilting his head to one side. "What's so funny?" The brown tom said, half growling. The black tom looked slightly shocked at the toms' defense, and quickly shook his head, "Nothing, nothing…" He cleared his throat, and spoke again, "So, you like one?" Snag looked at the collars, assuming the tom was referring to them. "The chain one," Snag mumbled, dipping his head so the other tom could put it on him.
The cold material pressed against his skin, giving him a chill that not even his fur could prevent.
His legs buckled, and as if in slow motion, Snag fell to the ground, the air being forced out of his lungs. His eyes glazed, and foam began to form at his lips, letting out a gurgling noise. Slowly, the handsome black tom faded away, as did everything else, and his world went black.
So this was just a fun little story that I wrote and posted on dA. There are two other parts so far, and I'm working on more.
