Thunder roared overhead. Rain pattered against the den. Lightning struck, and the wind blew through the camp. It was a starless and stormy night. But it was home.
Curled up in her nest, Leopardheart listened to the storm rage outside. But strangly, she felt comforted by it. She was safe in warm inside the den. She kinda liked storms. Liked curling up in her nest, and talking with her clanmates as they listened to it roar outside. RockClan was home. It would always be home. Leopardheart didn't remember her mother, or where she had been born. She had been a tiny kit when she had come to RockClan, and been adopted by Splashfoot.
Her thoughts drifted to her closest friends, Runningfeet, who was also her sister, and Blizzardwind. They were outside somewhere, probably trying to get to camp, or the warrior's den if they had already gotten here. The large boulders around camp helped protect from wind but it did nothing for the rain. All everyone could do during a storm was hunker down inside the dens, and wait for it to pass.
She loved RockClan. Loved leaping over boulders, and small shrubs. Loved curling up in the cave-like dens, and feeling the sun's warmth on her face as she greeted the new day. She loved chasing squirrels amongst the rocks, and practicing battle moves with Runningfeet. Loved taking walks in the moonlight with Blizzardwing. Loved just being here. There was no other Clan she would choose.
She rested her head on her paws, watching warriors hurry in from the rain, shake the water from their pelts and curl up in their own nests. She watched a warrior dart outside to grab a piece of prey, only to scurry back in as a sheet of rain hit them in the face. Her tail gently flicking back and forth, she set out a sigh of contentment. This was home.

Blizzardwind jumped inside the den faster than someone could imagine. Her sleek silver white fur blended in with the pounding rain. It looked like she had sprang from behind a white sheet into the warmer and much, much cozier den. Blizzardwind didn't like being wet, but she didn't mind too much about it. She shook herself at the entrance to avoid spraying any of the nest and her clanmates like she would have if she had done that farther inside. She didn't mind the coldness, but she did mind the wetness. She shook herself some more, trying to get rid of the drops of water from her soaked pelt. What a storm this was! Really!
Now that the rain was holding down her short furred coast, she looked even thinner and worry now. She was a speed type cat, with stronger hind legs. She wasn't really like any of the Rockclan cats because of her rogue background. They had been tree climbers, even though Blizzardwind didn't really climb trees anymore because of the lack of them in the clan. Once she had dried off, she spotted Leapordheart in her nest. Blizzardwind went to her own beside her friend's. "Hello, Leapordheart. Quite a storm we're having, huh?" The warrior purred.

Leopardheart looked up as Blizzardwind darted in. She purred in amusement as her friend tried to get all the water out of her pelt. She had never really like being wet Leopardheart recalled. "Yeah, it's like swimming in a pond out there the rain's coming down so hard. It's the kind of night you curl up with you clanmates, and talk and relax. Kinda nice listening to the rain patter against the den, the thunder roar outside." She purred. "Unless you're out in it."She broke into a smile.

"Not my favorite place to be." Blizzardwind purred in reply. Her pale blue eyes shone in amusement. She looked out as the rain fell in sheets. The rythm of the drops soother her ears. There was a bright flash and a clap of thunder, which Blizzardwind didn't like at all. She hated loud noiises, being the solitary quiet kind of cat. She didn't like storms at all...

"Don't like storms?" Leopardheart guessed. "I kind of like them actually. It's nice curling up in your nest, talking with friends, and listening to the storm. For me anyway."

"Curling up with friends is nice." Blizzardwind muttered, her ears drooping. "But the storm's too loud."

Leopardheart nodded, and jumped as a loud clap of thunder roared overhead. "I have to agree with you. This is a little TOO loud."

Blizzardwind jumped with her friend at the deafening crackle. She was probably going to have a headache later at all the noise.... Count on her to be sensitive.

"Wonder where Runningfeet is? I hope she gets here soon. You don't want to be out in all this."

"Yeah," Blizzardwind quickly agreed with her friend. She had a distaste of being wet like most cats did. "It's really hard to get dry after taking a full dip in all that rain."
