The large Persian kitten sat in the nursery. Yawning of boredom that didn't end. Kits played semi-stupid games. Why not talk like civilized being? Mercy was not against all games. She would do mock battle and moss ball, but that's it. She was a cat who preferred games of skill, not games that required acting out parts you would probably never be, unless you played apprentice or warrior. So, eventually she got tired of the squeaks, giggles, and yowling. Why could nothing be decent here. She knew a place where she could learn something. She hungered knowledge and correct speaking. In the elders' den she would learn that. Now she started off. To the den where the smart and elder cats were. Upon her arrival she was not greeted. That suited her fine. She headed towards the closest cat. A cat she had not recognized. Well, of course she did not recognize the cat! She was too young to really have met them in her past. She could barely even say she had a past! "Who?" She called out her kit-like greeting. She now practiced the words, "I want to learn" in her head.

Firelight|| —————
Firelight really wasn't necessarily in the mood to be bother by incoherent kits begging her for stories, which, when she felt like telling them, didn't actually happen. No kit, in her opinion, ha a mind of coherence and, even if they did, seldom had the nerve to use it. Generally, the little fluffy kittens were almost as senile as she. Maybe the crossover from kit to apprentice would knock some sense into their thick skulls, for the better of the clan.
Now, seeing as a ginger and slightly cream puffy.. thing -she couldn't even call it a kit- her hostility was aroused., and she pinned her ears flatly against her skull to clearly announce her detest.

The kitten didn't move. She had no clue what the Fireclan elder meant by doing so. A black and white cat was sitting in front of her detesting and protesting her existence in this den. She then remembered the words she had practiced in her head. She reminded herself of the sentence. 'I want to learn' was it. The fluffed kit smiled at the elder, she was not all clueless. She knew from a warning she was given that elders sometimes could be sharp and unaccepting of kits who bothered them. She sat and stretched one short and fat paw. "I want to learn," she then thought of something to add to the end. "from you." Mercy finished with adequate looknto her pushed in face. Her eyes blinked. They were wide and set far apart. She looked strange considering she was a prairie cat. Cats of the Moore were meant to have short thin pelts with long legs for running. She was actually quite the opposite of that. Large paws, stubby legs, and long fur. She then blinked away her thoughts from her appearance back to the elder.

'What queen did you come from? Surely not one of our beautiful felines. ' The less than inviting greeting was followed by a look of upmost horror crossing Firelight's face. This stubby kitten looked like a dog. An ugly one. Her lip curling in repulse, she waved her tail. I wantto learn.. From you. This was new. A kit actually wanted it's incompetent head to be filled with knowledge.
'Well then.. What do you want to learn?'

Mercy smiled at the look of disgust on the elder's face. Why should she be sad about her looks? She thought she looked special. Uncommon. "I am an offspring of Sparrowfur." She had no clue how she had spoken correctly. She was not very good at speaking. Now she seemed to be good. Those were words she had probably heard before. Then she listened on to the elder. "About the things I need to know to be smart. Like the information of other clans, the leaders of our clan, our history, and other things of importance." She started going on using words that she had heard before in conversation s that she was not included in. History was word she had heard another kit blabbering about to another. Importance had come from hearing warriors and apprentices discussing fighting and hunting. She looked at Firelight with a quizzical look. "Elders and seniors are some of the smartest cats in the clans. Why should I not learn from them when given the chance?"
