How the heck do you do this?

How do you changed the picture on the side... I can't really explain it. It's pretty confusing though. Ill try to explain it as good as I can...when you click profile, do you know how you can make a signature? Well I'm not asking you about that but like on the side you can put a picture there. And how do you do that? As Warriors Virtual World calls it... An Avatar.
How do you change it?
