Snakeclaw knew that talking to the clan leader was...well, dangerous. So, the patched tom had grabbed a rabbit from the fresh-kill pile and was at the entrence to Darkstar's den. He had something to report, and Darkstar might just take the rabbit and chase him out of the den. Well, time to take a chance. "Darkstar, may I speak with you?" He asked, being as respectful as he could.

The onyx leader glared forward with her icy blue eyes as the warrior crept into the leader den. If she didn't want to talk to him out in the open, why would she want to talk to him in here, in private, taking time out of her busy life in order to here a simple "report" which was probably nothing on her current concern.

Yep. There was the glare.
Snakeclaw set the rabbit in front of his leader. "Yesterday, Birdshadow of IceClan came and tried to rescue the prisoner. We drove him off, but Sparrowfur, Mistywind, and I know that there will be more IceClanners coming. We thought we should warn you in case of an invasion. Birdshadow is probably bringing the whole clan next time."

The icy blue glare turned to a bland expression as she contemplated the stupidity of what the cat had just told her. "Why . . . why did you let her go? Wouldn't it make more sense to bring Birdshadow to FireClan instead of letting her go back to IceClan?"

"We tried," Snakeclaw told her. "We really did, but before we could drive him back with us, Birdshadow got away, and we took Mossfeather back to camp with us." Snakeclaw rolled his eyes. "IceClan," He snorted. "Too afraid to face any other clan."
