Thorn in paw

[Dapplecloud]

I hopped into the medicine clearing unsteadily. I had gotten a thorn in my paw while settling in my nest. I tried taking it out, but it was planted firmly in my pad. I called out, "Snakefang? Are you there?"

[Cloudfrost]

Cloudfrost emerge from the shadows, "Poor dear are you alright?" she asked lying down on her stomache. She was the new patient as of now. from her recent battle with an eagel, she had a mess of cobwebs strapped to her back. "Whats wrong? I can help while Snakefang treats you. He'll be coming soon." she assured. She purred at the tortoiseshell kit. "Whats your name?" she asked.

[Snakefang]

I looked up from my nest, my orangish redish pelt ruffled. "Hello, Dapplekit. I've heard about you from your mother, Silversplash. I'm Snakefang. What do you need, youngster?"

[Dapplecloud]

(To Cloudfrost) I'm Dapplekit. (To both) I got a thorn in my paw when I was settling in my nest.

[Cloudfrost]

Cloudfrost purred sympathetically, "Well Snakefang can help out I'm sure." she meowed. "But while he does, want me to tell you a story?" she asked. Cloudfrot needed a change of pace. The medicine cat den wasn't exactly fun. "About an eagle?" she added. She had been waiting to tell this one all day. Cloudfrost glanced at
Snakefang, he could help her while she distracted her with a story.

[Dapplecloud]

I look at Cloudfrost, unsure what an eagle was. "Ok," I answered

[Cloudfrost]

Cloudfrost smiled, "Well, a couple days ago, me and Snakefang we're attacked! WE were attacked by a giant bird with big claws and giant wings, it wanted to take one of the kits. But we couldn't let it take any, so we fought it. It' giant wings slapped us around so many times; it's claws clawing at our backs. We didn't know how much we could take! So, the bird swooped down one last time, taking me in it's talons. The eagle hurt me, but i twisted around grabbing it's legs and dragging it to the ground. That was when snakefang jumped onto it's back and raked it with his claws." she said her eyes glowing with the refreshment of the memory. " The eagle flew off afterwards, and we won! But we were hurt, we came back here to treat us. Thats why I'm in here." she said turning her head to gesture at her back. Dried blood clotted her fur.
"But it's gone now don't worry." she reassured.

[Dapplecloud]

(My face) O.o "When I'm a warrior, then I would fight like you did! I believe the kits are the most importan tpart of the Clan, other than the leader and the warriors."
I glance at my paw again. "If you can take it out, I'm not afraid of pain."

[Snakefang]

I padded calmly over to Dapplekit, sniffing her paw. Then I gripped the thorn between my teeth and pulled it out. A bit of blood gushed out, and I rubbed some chewed up burdock root onto the tiny wound. Then I wrapped the paw in cobwebs. "There you go!" I meowed. "Your paws just as good as before! And when you face an eagle, make sure you have someone with you. Eagles are very hard to fight."

[Dapplecloud]

I grimaced at the pain, but I smiled at Snakefang. "Thanks for the tip! I'll remember that when I get to be an apprentice, if I ever see an eagle." I bounded out of the medicine cat area and back to the nursery.
