Softpaw went inside the apprentices' den. The weather was hot outside. At least the den has protection from the sun she said in her head. Being a apprentice is a lot of work. The nursery was fun, but not as fun as being super active. Also you could hunt and fight when your an apprentice she thought.
Softpaw didn't have that much friends as an apprentice. The only apprentices she knew were only Diamondpaw, Thunderpaw, Lilypaw, and Dustpaw. She would like to make more. "Hello?"Softpaw said, looking for someone who will reply.

"Hi." The ginger apprentice tentatively replied. For some reason, Gingerpaw just wasn't good at making friends. She didn't mind though. Well, she minded a little but not much. She walked closer to the tabby and white apprentice. She seemed new, much unlike herself, who was almost ancient. She sighed melancholically, licking her tail. "Enjoying the life of an apprentice?"

Softpaw heard an apprentice respond to her. The she-cat didn't look as small as the other apprentices. "Yes I am enjoying the life of an apprentice kind of, its just my other good friends are in the nursery."She said softly. She missed Willowkit, Ravenkit, Frostkit, and more. "Are you going to be a warrior soon?"Softpaw asked.

"Not really. My mentors keep disappearing." She said distantly. She looked at Softpaw, "You shouldn't worry about it. Apprenticeship takes a while. So you should have plenty of time with your friends. I've been here longer than most, but... if you don't mind me saying, being without your best friends let the chance for new ones to come in." She laughed softly, but in a bitter sort of way. "It's nice to have friends..."

"I hope someone new becomes an apprentice soon."Softpaw said. Hurry up kitties she thought in her head. "So how much mentors did you have."She said. Maybe she doesn't want to talk about! So dumb, so dumb she thought to herself.

Softpaw looked at Gingerpaw. You don't know, their your mentor! "So who's you friends around here?"She asked the ginger apprentice. I wonder if she wants to be my friend? She thought to herself. She waited for the she-cats answer her question.

Stormpaw quietly walked into his new den. Why are all the other apprentice's bigger than me! Stormpaw was big for his age... But the others still seemed to be bigger than him! He looked around, he spotted two she-cats talking. He padded up to them, he didn't want to disturb their conversation! He decided in the end that he should at least say hi and introduce himself. "Hello," He meowed, "I'm Stormpaw." |

Softpaw heard a cat that she didn't recognize. It was Stormpaw, the newly made apprentice. She didn't know him well. "Hello, my name is Softpaw."She murmured to Stormpaw.

Stormpaw smiled, "Hi Softpaw!" He looked over at the other she-cat and realized that she was Gingerpaw, part of the 'Group.' He had seen them a few times talking together. Stormpaw turned his attention back to Softpaw, "How long have you been training?" He asked her. "I have only been out for a few days....."

Softpaw looked at her paws for a while. "Don't worry you went outside of camp more than me. I only went outside once."She said. I never saw Prairiesong for a long time she thought.

"Oh..." Stormpaw said. "I'm sorry." He looked at the entrance to the den, "Is anyone here hungry?" He asked. Stormpaw knew his belly was aching with hunger. His tail swished on the den floor. "The prey has been good so the prey-pile is stocked." He meowed.
