Anemonepaw entered the apprentices' den. This was it, it was huge! And the nests were spread out meaning more room for everyone! Also it wasn't so stuffy compared to the nursery. Indeed she reeked of the nursery still but that would ware of, she was an apprentice now. With the mentor of Windswirl.

Now she could start all over, more mature fellow apprentices around her hopefully. All the other kits were so loud and rude. Obnoxious to her and she was glad to leave but she wished she could've taken a few friends with her. Actually only one and it would be Cricket, her adopted brother. They both shared the mother of Silversplash but she was biological and he was adopted. Anemonepaw looked around for others there were none, none that she could see that was.

Softpaw grabbed a piece of prey from the fresh kill pile. She was hungry, it felt like she didn't eat in moons. Her green eyes looked around the camp, watching the busy clan. I wonder where my friends are she thought to herself. Softpaw bounded to the apprentices's den. Her head poked threw the den. Turning her head from side to side, instead of finding her friends she saw a cat. She new her from the nursery. It was Anemonepaw, the newly made apprentice. I don't know her that much she thought. She always saw her playing with Cricketkit. I think she's my sister she thought. But I'm one of Silversplashe's adopted kit. Anemonepaw looked around the room, she looks lonely she thought in her head. Softpaw walked slowly towards her until she was able to here Softpaw. "Hello Anemonepaw!"She mewed. Her green eyes looking at Anemonepaw.

Anemonepaw jumped a little as someone was behind her all of a sudden and spoke in a more of excited tone. She turned around and saw a she-cat. That same she-cat seemed to know her. Anemonepaw didn't recall meeting her. The older apprentice was probably at the ceremony and heard her name.

Dipping her head she replied to the apprentice, "Greetings, indeed I am Anemonepaw, and who might you be?" Anemonepaw studied her curiously. The apprentice looked familiar but she had never really spoken to her. This apprentice didn't seem that much older than her so obviously she would've seen her in the nursery.

Softpaw listened to what Anemonepaw had to say. She saw Anemonepaw observe her very carefully. I don't bite she thought to herself. "My name is Softpaw."She said. I wonder if she wants to be my friend? She thought in her head. I don't really know who's my friend. Diamondpaw and Blizzardpaw are my friends. I can't believe I only have a small amount of friends. Well I know more cats but I don't think their my friends. Anemonepaw seemed nice, she could become my friend. Maybe I should get to know her better she thought to herself. Softpaw looked at her very carefully like how she did to her.

Anemonepaw watched as the apprentice watched her as well. The name recently mentioned was Softpaw, quite a different name possibly meaning that she was kind hearted. Well Anemone didn't know this cat so she didn't know if she was kind hearted but from the looks of her she seemed like a pretty sweet she-cat. "It's nice to meet you Softpaw. I'm obviously new here from the smell of the nursery still on my pelt." she said trying to make a simple conversation with the older she-cat.

Softpaw sniffed the air it smelled like the nursery. Anemonepaw was right, she did smell like the nursery. There is lots of new apprentices, like Anemonepaw, Blizzardpaw, Eaglepaw, and more. Oh my so many kits are going to turn into apprentices, she thought in her head. She started licking her paws, not knowing what to say now. When she looked down she saw the mouse that she forgot about. She laid down and pushed the mouse closer to her. Softpaw totally forgot about Anemonepaw. "Do you want to share this mouse with me?"Softpaw asked gazing up at Anemonepaw. Now she looks way taller than me she thought. I wonder if thats what prey feel like. She giggled as she thought of being some kind of prey.

Anemonepaw watched as Softpaw layed down with the mouse. Then she asked her if she wanted to share. "Sure." she meowed with a smile on her face. Anemonepaw lay down and started to nibble on the mouse.

Softpaw took a small bite. "Yum."She said. The prey tastes so good she thought. Her green eyes watched Anemonepaw eat for a while. "Do you want to be my friend?"She said kind of shyly. I wonder if I can meet Cricketkit she thought. While she was deciding, Softpaw took another bite of the mouse.

Anemonepaw was enjoying the prey when all of a sudden that question came up. It always came up with whoever she met. Well, I guess I can teach an older apprentice too. This was something that Anemonepaw truely disliked, when others asked for friends. "Softpaw, I like the thought of being your friend but there is something you need to know. You don't get friends with a question." she meowed. "It happens within time." she said looking at the tabby. This was the biggest question that irretated her and she taught all the ones who said it. She told them that it just wasn't right, which is true, it isn't right at all.

"Okay."Softpaw said kind of embarrassed. She tried to push that conversation away. It was okay if I have to wait until were like warriors. I'll try make other friends she thought. When she was done she sat up and said "So who are your friends?"She asked. I had only a little amount of friends. But she's trying to make more. That's why she asked Anemonepaw so early.

Anemonepaw knew that the apprentice might not understand, most usually didn't. Then a question broke the silence. "My friends? Cricketkit, Clovekit, Artctickit, Ravenkit, and Coyotekit." she meowed. "I don't have many, and I only have one best friend, Cricket but the others I've only talked to once and I can call them my friends due to how much fun we had together that one time. "Who are yours?"

"My friends are Diamondpaw, Blizzardpaw, Rushingpaw, and a couple of more but I only speaked to them once. Im not sure who is my best friend. It was Diamondpaw, but I don't see her anymore and I just met Blizzardpaw and Rushingpaw."Softpaw mewed. She didn't know what to say after that. She started licking her paws again.

"Ya, I don't have that many friends due to my difficult personality." she meowed. Suddenly remembering her closest sister who seemed like a best friend also she decided to speak of her as well. "Also my sister, who is my real sister, we were in the same litter of Silversplash's. It's Aspenkit, though we are the same age somehow I'm an apprentice and she isn't." she meowed thinking of the silver tabby. Aspenkit always let that get to her, that all her friends and family are moving to the apprentices' den without her.

Softpaw felt bad for Aspenkit. I don't know if I left one of my friend behind before. I waited for Diamondpaw to be an apprentice before I turned into one. She started shuffling her paws. What should I say now? She thought. "Uh, I feel bad for Aspenkit."She said looking down at the floor. "Yeah I feel really bad." She murmured again.

Anemonepaw looked at Softpaw. She looked shameful. "Don't be sorry, Aspenkit is happy and patient for her apprentice ceremony. It doesn't bring her hopes much down." she reassured the older apprentice. Aspenkit was going to have her ceremony really soon and Anemonepaw made a promise. A promise that she wouldn't ever break. She promised that she'd be standing right in the middle of the entrance to the apprentices' den when Aspenkit steps in for the first time. Of course she'd be Aspenpaw when she steps in though.
