This is for Alice's eyes only.
Skypaw shuffled around in his nest, waiting for his mentor. He had to tell her about the fox attack. He shivered. Would she be angry with him? Skypaw shook his head. He didn't know how she would react to his face. He haven't even seen it yet. How long would he have to stay in this smelly den? No offense to Brightflame and Waterheart, but it stunk of herbs and sick cats. Skypaw groaned and pawed at his torn up ear, crusted blood falling off in clumps.

Her ocean eyes shimmering in the night, Lilypool slowly stepped into the medicine cat den. It wasn't really night, it was mid-morning, but the den was so naturally dark no cat could tell the difference. The senior warrior needed to get the details of the fox attack from her apprentice. Yes, that was correct. While she was off letting Voice pick fun at the new leader of RockClan, Lily's apprentice's face was being torn off by a fox's dirty jaws. The gray warrior shivered at the thought, and padded into the den deeper, picking up the scent of Skypaw. Not entirely of the young tom .. but of his scent mixed with desease. It made the she-cat's stomach churn, but she padded onward until she finally came to her apprentice, sitting alone in his nest. Skypaw .. the she-cat mewed mournfully.

'She mus think I'm ugly now', he thought to himself. The apprentice shifted around, trying to hide his face in the shadows. He looked at Lilypool with his good eye, wrapping his tail around the side of his body.
"Hello Lilypool," he meowed, wondering how she would answer. The pretty she-cat would probably freak out; she looked disgusted by how she just glanced over at him. Would Skypaw never be able to train again? Then, that mean't that he would never get his warrior name. Cedarpaw would become a warrior without him! Then she would fall in love with someone else! Wait, why would he care about that? Well, a pretty feline like Cedarpaw would get any male's attention. Skypaw wanted to stay friends with her, and not let anything, not even a stupid cat, get in his way of being her best friend.

Lily could tell the apprentice was trying to hide his face, and it made her tsk her tongue. He needn't do that. The warrior padded forward, and gently turned Skypaw's face toward her, examining it carefully. She ran the tip of her tail down the side of the wound, her stomach filling with regret, and sorrow, her eyes threatening her with tears. Hello Skypaw .. the she-cat said so quietly she had to wonder if he heard her. Lily sat and wrapped her tail around her paws, and stared at Skypaw, wondering if she'd ever get to train the cheerful little apprentice again.

Skypaw felt her tail run down his grosteque wound. His jaws slowly gaped open and his breath slowed, almost to a stop. He shivered slightly. He saw her stare at his face as the tom stared back, waiting for a reaction. He held his breath as she said hello to him.
"It's horrible, isn't it?" he asked her, bowing his head. He felt ashamed of his face. Skypaw was ugly looking, or so he thought.

It's horrible, isn't it? The gray warrior flicked her ears at the wound. Voice was disgusted by the wounds, and she made it clear throughout all the nasty comments she said silently. Lily silenced her with a violent hiss, and looked away from her apprentice. Finally, when she'd worked up the nerve she needed to speak without her words failing her, Yes, the wound is pretty bad. But what's worse is that I wasn't there to save you. The gray she-cat hung her head, ashamed of herself.

"No! It's my fault. I went ou by myself, therefore, this is my punishment. It's my fault, not yours,"Skypaw meowed, trying to make Lilypool feel better. It was his fault. All of it. Why did he go out alone? He knew Shadowfall had done it, yet in turn, slipped and fell on a rock. He wished so hard that it hadn't happeend to him.

The gray warrior shook her head at Skypaw's words. Lily, don't be so hard on yourself, Voice mewed silently to her fellow personality. It was my fault, really. I shouldn't have made you stay and torment Hawkstar.. Lily stopped dead at Voice's words, mentally staring at her. You just admitted to something being your fault .. that's new. Voice nodded, and Lily turned to look at Skypaw. No, it's not. You shouldn't have gone out alone, but I should've .. I should've done something.

SKypaw nodded and shook his head at the same time. He sighed. Maybe having this scar wouldn't be so bad. What was he saying? It would be horrible for him, all those cats staring at him, being scared of him. He wouldn't be able to see the kits anymore, fear of them being afraid of his face. The elders would tell him that how ugly he looked. He got up and shoved his face into LilyPOOL'S shoulder, tears tumbling down his cheeks as he weeped into the she-cat's shoulder, wettening her fur. His body shook with his sobs as he cried, thankful it was only his mentor here. He didn't want any other cat see him being weak and soft.
"Why did it have to be me? You probably hate me now,"Skypaw mewled pityfully, his paws trembling withguilt and sadness.

Lily rested her tail on Skypaw's back, stroking it gently to calm him down. Poor kid, Lily and Voice thought at the same time, both of them feeling the sorrow and upset that came with such a catrastrophy. It'll be okay. You'll heal and we'll resume your training. Don't worry, Skypaw.

"But, what about my eye? I'm blind in it,"he asked her. Had she trained someone else that was blind in one eye? It would be extremly hard to do. It would be awkward for him to fight and see and sense where everything is.

But what about my eye, I'm blind in it. The gray warrior considered her answer carefully, staring at Skypaw and wondering how she would train him when the time came to do so. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it, Voice mewed silently, making Lily nod again. You still can see out of one eye. Don't worry.

"Ok,"Skypaw meowed, relieved to hear that he was going to become a warrior after all. It porbably would take longer, but would certainly be worth it. Skypaw pulled away, his face slightly red. Not from the dried blood, but from embarassment. He just hugged his mentor! Well, not much of a hug, more of a cry on the shoulder. He looked away again, showing the deep wound on his face and his light blue eye. It was foggy and er...lighter than his other, deep blue eye.
