Hawkstar wasn't inside when she walked in but he just happened to walk in behind her. He had a bird he didn't recognize in his jaws that he had found in the fresh kill pile. He set it down and then tapped his mate with his tail tip.
"Boo!" he exclaimed, laughing.

Prairiesong screamed and turned around, when she saw it was her mate she frowned. "You scared me!!" she meowed, still freaked out. "Meanie." she huffed.

Hawkstar purred and rubbed against her lovingly. "I didn't mean to startle you...that bad." he teased smiling slightly.
He licked her head and then looked at the rabbit she brought. He pointed at his own bird when he spoke "Looks like we had the same idea."

"I've been okay. As you've noticed pretty busy. A lot has been on my mind." A lot had been on his mind. Fireclan was quiet and he didn't know what to do. He wanted to take them to war but he couldn't without Iceclan's help.
He shooed thoughts of war away. He knew his mate didn't want to hear any of that stuff.
"I've missed you a lot..." he admitted slowly.

"Train all your apprentices! Then we can have more us time." he said purring and rubbing against her, entwining his tail with hers. He loved being with her. It was so light-hearted compared to clan life and more specifically leadership life.

Prairiesong hissed playfully. "Have you not noticed that I only have one apprentice left?" she asked her mate with an annoyed expression. She allowed him to twine their tails together.
