I'm sure that not many people have ever even noticed these sites, but you know those buttons in each of the clan's pages? (And Shimmering Rocks, ect.) Well if you click them, they take you to a website where it describes the clan's location, what the clan hunts, ect., and you can even eat fresh kill there! Well I made those long ago; before I even knew how to RP (if you were one of the very oldest members, you'll recall some messed up tutorials and posts from Silverstar...)! Well, even though some of the things on each of those websites doesn't really apply, they're still fun pieces of history on VWW, and I have some bad news about them.
Yahoo!, the owner of Geocities, which is the webhost that hosts those sites, is closing Geocities, and all of the websites created with it. All files saved to Geocities will be deleted on October 26th, 2009. This announcement was made a couple of weeks ago, and at the time, I didn't think much of it. Sure, I had created many websites there, but none of them had any value or anything worth saving. Then it dawned on me...the websites that I made using Geocities for VWW!
Now like I said, those little websites don't hold much value, but the backgrounds I made were cool, and they are part of VWW history. So that brings me to my point...what should I do? I could either stand by and let them perish, as no one ever really read them anyway, I could convert them to a new webhost, or I could put bits of the background, the description, and the fresh kill pile on this very website.
What do y'all think?
