Hollystep walked slowly into the den, head down, crying. She tried to sto, but couldn't. She wanted to see her old friend, Redstorm. Horsepaw broke her heard AND her best friends heart. He said he loved her, than went to a different she-cat. "R-Redstorm." she cried

She looked up at him. Her eyes red, she had hardly managed to stop crying. "Horsepaw said he loved me." she struggled to say. "Now he went off to another she cat." she felt the years once more. He was probably going to say he felt no putty on lovey stuff.

"I'm sorry. But at least now you know what kind of cat Horsepaw is. If I were you, I'd just sit back and watch him break that other cat's heart the same way he broke yours. Plus, you're still so young. You'll find your soul mate later on in life." He was so bad at this kind of advice, especially since he didn't have much personal experience. He himself did only have one mate during his life. Except that one thing with Ivycloud, but that was a mistake.

"I guess." she mewed. "But I don't think I want a mate anymore. It takes up my time, and it just leads to drama." she mewed. "Did you ever have a mate Redstorm?"

"Why yes, yes I did. Her name was Hazelblaze. We had been friends since we were kits and apprentices. I think it was always obvious we would be together when we grew up. She hasn't been around for a long time, though." He missed Hazelblaze greatly. He hadn't seen here in over a year or so.

"Oh..." she mewed. "I'm so sorry. I wish you had another elder around for your company. I'd come here, but I have seasons left in me." she mewed

"There are other elders in the Clan, they just tend to hide away by themselves. I know one quite well, actually. Wildwind, my great grandmother. Other than Wildstar, she's the oldest cat in the Clan. But we don't really get along that well." He muttered, shaking his head at the thought of Wildwind.

She nodded. "I wish there were ones here." she mewed. "To talk to daily." she blinked her eyes. "Is Wildstar ever going to retire?"

"Probably not. Leader usually rule over the Clan even during old age. I think it would take serious age, illness or injury to make Wildstar retire." He said, becoming a bit bored.
"Part of me wishes there were more elders to talk to, but I also like being alone a lot of the time. During my youth I never actually had time to just think, or admire the beauty of the sky. Now I can."

She sat up. "Let's go Redstorm." she mewed. "I'm going to take you on a walk."

"I guess I could go on a walk." He mumbled, getting up. He stretched, and let out an enormous yawn. "Just try not to take me too far from camp. I don't feel like walking too much."

She let out a purr. "Don't worry Redstorm! We won't go too far."
