Thornfrost basically dragged himself into the medicine den, in fact he was half surprised he had made it at all. His throat had more or less been ripped out, and he now sported claw marks on his stomach. Truthfully, it was a miracle he wasn't dead, but he was at the very least close to it.
For all extensive purposes, he had been attacked by a fox. This was actually a lie, as it had been Ashmist that had attacked him, trying to kill the tom. But nobody needed to know that. He didn't understand why he was protecting the she-cat, but he would never turn her in like that.
Flopping down in a spare nest with a hoarse sigh, Thornfrost just lay there, the tip of his tail twitching. He wouldn't call out, couldn't really. The striped tom was no medicine cat, but everything hurt. That was his professional analysis of the situation. It hurt. Plus, a great deal of blood was gone as well.
[Sav, you enter......don't lecture me. Pweese?]

.. I officially hate sleeping inside the Apprentices' Den. All the snoring, murmuring, and even shrieking was enough to make my ears bleed. And in case you didn't know, I have ears that are ridiculously sensitive. One little shout was enough hot make me wince and it took all of my will to not hide in a hole. But anyway, I was currently outside, feeling just a little bit bad for leaving Rav-Rav alone, with nothing but my scent to accompany him. Sighing, I climbed to the top of the Den, resting on top, an evening mist blanketing the ground. And I was just about to close my eyes, when I saw a bloody tabby figure that was all-too-familiar. I tried to tell myself that it was just both cat, but the extremely huge and fluffy tail made my heart sink and my mind to be captured with fear. Off of my own accord, I scrambled down and shot after my older brother, entering the Medicine Den without the slightest bit of hesitation, I looked around wildly, navy blue optics dull with panic. Once I found him on one of the nests, I dashed over and started licking his pelt vigorously, my body shaking with fear.
“Tell me what happened. Now, Thorn.”

Ah crap. Of all the possible cats..... Ocean blue eyes flashed open and locked onto his little sister with trepidation. Containing a sigh, he began to comtemplate on which hurt more, his current wounds, or the verbal abuse that was sure to come from Tigerpaw. His mouth curled up in a little smile, even though he hated seeing the tabby so worried, especially for him. If he hated anything, it was unnecissary care for himself, it was just irritating and uneeded.
Speaking softly, his voice still hoarse, he did his best to make light of the situation, as he always did. Thorn hated to lie to the apprentice, but if she did know the truth, there was no way he'd be able to stop her from going on a killing spree for Ashmist.
I just had a little run in with a fox.......that's all. Don't you worry, Little one.

A fox. So it was because of a fox. I trust him, I really do, but I wanted to make sure that he wasn't lying to his own little sister. My blue gaze once again fixated upon his wounds, examining each and every little scratch. The claw-marks were too thin and compressed to be a fox's, and the bite marks should have drawn more blood. Looking at it one last time, I knew he wasn't saying the truth. Immediately, I bottled up the hurt and anger that flared to life in my chest, and turned back to the tom.
“It wasn't a fox. Tell the truth, Thorn. Now !”
I growled, my voice almost becoming the shrill cry of a banshee. How could he lie to me? I wanted to help him. But how could I do that if I didn't know what happened? I scratched the ground with unsheathed obsidian claws, swearing silently to myself that I would seriously hurt the person who did this to the tom.

Well, she saw through that one easily enough, though he wasn't surprised. His ear twitched at the rough sound of claws on the ground. Nope, he couldn't tell her, no way. She'd kill Ashmist for sure, and Thornfrost knew that once it was all over, he'd have lost his Tiger, he couldn't let her do that to herself.
Drop it, Tigerpaw. It's not important.
He murmed tiredly, lifting his head up a little to look back at the lithe female. She was way too smart for him, it was almost a little scary.

“No. It is most certainly not over. Not until you get into that thick head of yours the idea that I. Want. To. Know.”
I snapped, the anger getting the best of me. Normally, I wouldn't have been like that towards him, but he was pushing it. Besides, he knew why I always act like this. Lashing my ringed tail wildly, eyes showing that I was too stubborn to give up. I never ceased to torture the ground below me, every passing of my claws creating a new dent on the dusty soil.

Thornfrost groaned in defeat before rolling his eyes ever so slightly. Pushing himself into a sitting position, he staggered on his paws slightly before regaining a wobly balance. Lifting his striped head to look at her, he let his ocean blue eyes travel over the stubborn female. Blowing out a long sigh, the tabby tom merely shook his head with weary acceptance.
Fine then, if you insist on knowing. It was Ashmist that attacked me, aiming to kill. But then, I probably deserved it.
Flicking his sister gently with his tail, Thornfrost smiled grimly. But, I don't want you getting involved in any of this, or going to seek her out. It is not your burden to bear.

“Any burden you have is mine to carry as well. Haven't you noticed? I stand up for you. I force myself to be brave even when I'm not .. just for you. I practically die when I see you in pain. Can't you see? I care, Thornfrost. And don't tell me that I don't need to get involved. You're my brother and I would do anything for you. Just please .. let me help.”
My meows became softer and softer, until I was practically begging for him to let me help him. My eyes dulled with hurt, the hurt he had inflicted on me for both lying and letting himself get walked on by others. He needed to understand that he needs to take care of himself more, not try and save everything as if they have another chance at it. He needs to stand up for himself. And I would be the one to teach him that.

Thornfrost watched as Tigerpaw poured her heart out for him, sorrow and pride glittering in his eyes. Leaning forward, he pressed his muzzle to Tigerpaw's shoulder gently, hoping to give her a little comfort at least. It seemed he was always doing that, comforting and helping others, but it was not something he saw as a burden, more a gift.
How then little one, how can you help me? You have no idea how much I care about you, and how much it hurts to see you in pain of any kind. If you believe that helping me will make you happy, then go ahead. But be wary of hurting others on your path to happiness.

Silverblaze woke to the sounds of talking. She was sick, thanks to a weird twoleg object. Her lip drew back in a snarl as she saw Tigerpaw. "I saw what you have done to Littlepaw, when she was still a kit! And Wetsplash and Lionpaw. You just use your teeth and claws when you don't get your way!" A growl rose from her throat and her eyes burned with a terrifying fire. She was sick, but the hatred of hers for Tigerpaw gave her a strength.
