(This thread is for Mossfeather and I only.)
Maplefrost let out a yawn from where she sat in her nest. The den was warm despite the fact that snow had started to fall lightly during the night. It was nearly sunhigh now, and the weather hadn't improved. Given that she didn't want to freeze her tail off, perhaps she'd find someone to chat with.

Mossfeather loved the snow. It was cool on her fur and she found to fun to play with. She didn;t care that it was childish; it was too fun. Padding over to the warrior's den, she shook some of the snow off of her fur.
There wasn't a lot of it, just the welcoming into leaf bare. Spotting a tortiseshell pelt, the warrior padded over to her, her whiskers twitching. "What's wrong, Maplefrost? Don't like that snow that much?" she asked, sitting down next to her.

"Oh, hello Mossfeather. It's been a while." The senior warrior smiled at the sight of her old friend. She'd met the younger female many moons ago, and although the tortoiseshell hadn't originally taken much of a liking to Mossfeather, they'd soon grown closer. There was also the incident of a few moons ago to take into account. The long-furred feline frowned slightly as she remembered being held hostage in FireClan. Mossfeather and Birdshadow had escaped and come back to save her. It probably hadn't been a day too soon, either.
"No, I don't like snow. It usually means that colder weather is on its way. I don't want to get greencough, and besides, snow means that the prey will be hiding." She flicked her tail.

"It has been." Mossfeather agreed, nodding. The warrior studied her, letting out a breath in releif. She looked so much better than she had when she was in FireClan. Yawning, she ley down, flicking her tail. "Of course colder weather is coming, Maplefrost. It's almost leaf bare." she laughed slightly, tapping her paw. "As for greencough, I'm not concerned. Brightflame has helped me several times; he would again." she meowed, her eyes shining.
"We have plenty of prey. It's only a first snow. We wont have a hard snow for a while." she meowed, her eyes bright. She loved the thought of a hard snow. She could bury herself in it and jump out at some unsuspecting warriors. Possibly teach a few apprentices how to. "So, what have you been up to latley, Maplefrost?"

Maplefrost settled down in her nest with a slight sigh. "I know leaf-bare is coming. But the Clan never fares too well then, especially not with half the Clan obsessing over love. They're being too dramatic or depressed to feed themselves, let alone the elders and queens. That wouldn't be so terrible if we didn't live up here in the mountains, where leaf-bare is always severe." Sometimes it was clear that the senior warrior had a tendency to worry. Yet not all of her thoughts were unrealistic.
She shook herself out of planning for the potential future. Mossfeather was younger, more carefree. Perhaps it wasn't bad to have that outlook on life. "I've been fine, albeit a tad bored. Most of the time I've been hunting or talking to Windflurry. Sometimes both." The tortoiseshell's former mentor had become her best friend, and they were a close pair.

Mossfeather nodded, her tail twitching. "I'm suficiantly sick of all these cat's going crazy over love. My friend Tanglepelt has had four mates! She's crazy for love, to say the least." she meowed, rolling her eyes and laughing. "No one trains the apprentices right thesee days. They train them to hunt and fight for themselves. Mabye I should take a few of them out for a hunt and show them whwat to do for real." she thought out loud.
She shook her head. "I'll get them prey later. I don't depend on apprentices anymore." Looking at Maplefrost, she lay her head on her paws, looking at some grass infront of her. "I havn't talked to Windflurry latley." she mewed, shrugging. "Have you heard what Emberstorm is doing?" she asked, her voice slightly urgent.

"Great CloudClan, I'm sick of all this love. I agree with you about no one training their apprentices right, actually. Half the new warriors have three or four apprentices, and they're the ones that don't know what to do. I'd be happy to take an apprentice, yet all of the older kits seem to gravitate toward clueless lovers." This was one of the things that Maplefrost hated the most, and she had to make an effort to keep from ranting about it.
"If you do decide to help train them, I'll gladly help. As for Windflurry, she's doing well." The tortie licked at one paw, her black claws carefully sheathed. "Emberstorm? I couldn't care less what that mouse-brained fool is doing. Let him be exiled," she meowed dismissively.

"The newer warriors rushed through their training just to catch up with their love or whatever. And they rush their apprentices through training due to them thinking that the apprentices feel that way." Mossfeather meowed, taking a breath. "You know, the last apprentice I had got another mentor because I wasn't rushing her?" she meowed, getting rather annoyed.
She had a new apprentice that she needed to train, but she would find him first. "Good." she meowed, nodding to the senior warrior. "Tomarrow, if its alright with you." Her ears flicked at what she said about Emberstorm. "Right there with you, but stay away from him." she warned, looking at her paws.

"Tomorrow sounds just fine. It's not as if I ever have anything to do nowadays. I hunt, patrol, and take care of the elders occasionally. Not a very exciting lifestyle in my opinion." Maplefrost twisted her head around in an attempt to groom her flank. The two long scars were still there; probably would always be there. She'd forgotten exactly when the fight with the fox had been, but she'd helped Windflurry, Birdshadow, and Snowfeather to protect the Clan. Those had been the days...
Maplefrost chuckled. "Don't worry. I know better than to let that fool influence me." She returned to lapping at one paw and drawing it over her face.

Mossfeather shrugged, streatching her frost legs out infront of her. "There is nothing that exciting happening these days. The most fun I've had in a moon is the snow." she meowed, yawning. "How many should we take? Not too many, but enough. And, we need to be a little hard on them, due to their mentor's stupidity..." she thought out loud.
"Good. So many are trusting him now, beleiving him. Darkwing, Tanglepelt... My own stupid brother..." she trailed off, letting out a sigh.

"Life has gotten a bit dull, hasn't it? Perhaps that's not just me after all." The tricolor female ducked her head to groom her chest. "As for the apprentices, we can probably take three or four. Not any more than that, though. Too many young cats and things tend to get out of paw. I'm completely fine with being tough on them," she meowed. Maplefrost was rather serious by nature, so she tended to be strict with the younger warriors and apprentices anyway.
"Oh, that's right. I trust you've been doing well? It has been quite a while since the last time I sat down and had a nice chat with you."

"Nope. It's not just you. Life is increadibly boring." Mossfeather meowed, flicking her ears. Licking a paw, she ran it over her ear, shaking her fur out. "Sounds good to me. Do you have any specific ones in mind?" she meowed, thinking of what apprentices to bring. It may eventually help the clan. Who knows.
"I'm guessing they'll be excited getting to train with each other. So, we do need to keep them in out paws. Otherwise, we may have them running into FireClan." she muttered, barley audible. The thought made her shudder. "I've been fine. A little stressed, but fine all the same. And you? We havn't really talked since... when was the last time we spoke?" she laughed, flicking an ear.

"Hah, I don't even know any of the current apprentices. Your choice as to who we take along." Another small reminder that she'd done her best to distance herself from all the drama. She didn't even recall who was still an apprentice, who had gotten their warrior names... and she didn't know the kits' names at all. Putting a name to a face simply wasn't one of her strong points, plus she hardly set eyes upon the younger cats in the first place.
She let the quiet comment about FireClan go. No sense in bringing up that nonsense again; those traitors had done quite enough damage. "You should probably relax once in a while... I've just been worried about the Clan's future for the most part." A smile curled at her lips. "I can't remember the last time we chatted, actually..."

Mossfeather laughed a little, her eyes bright. "Do you think I do? 'Cuz I don't. Except for Owlpaw, and she's stubborn beyond beleif." she laughed, giving her chest a few quick licks. "Alright. I'll find a few tomarrow morning." She usually knew the younger cats in the clan, but you know, she had gotten lazy with that.
Looking at Maplefrost, she flattened her ears. "Sorry. Emberstorm and all... Er, nevermind." she meowed, waving her front paws. Mossfeather laughed a little, flaxing her claws. "Have we ever had a decent conversation, Maplefrost? Cuz I don't think so."

"I'll trust you to handle the apprentices, then." Maplefrost nodded with a satisfied purr. It felt good to be able to trust a younger cat to do something. Mossfeather had certainly gotten more mature since their first meeting. Now she was responsible and kind; a welcome change from several moons ago.
"You're right. I doubt we've ever had a decent conversation. Wonder why that is?" The senior warrior grinned. Perhaps it was just that she had been too busy until recently for relaxed chatting, or maybe she hadn't trusted Mossfeather to be more mature. However, Maplefrost was starting to develop a tentative respect for the younger feline now. She'd proved herself, to be fair.
