[Sorry for the name, no muse for creative titles.]
Webpaw had only been an apprentice for a few days, but he already felt a difference in himself. He was getting stronger, he could feel it. He had been sore from the past few training sessions, not used to using the muscles he did. It wore him to the bone, but in a strange way he had never felt better in his life.
The point colored tom was finished with training for the day. He was stretched out in his nest, tired, but not quite tired enough to sleep. He hadn’t really met any of the other apprentices and pretty much all his friends hadn’t had their apprentice ceremonies yet. Webpaw was just lucky in getting his ceremony before they did. He’d really like to meet some of the other apprentices though.
The tom stood up and stepped out into the cold, almost leafbare air. A fine layer of frost blanketed the camp. He shivered a little. It was his leafbare and he hoped that it didn’t get any colder. He approached an apprentice who appeared to be doing nothing.

Shiverpaw grumbled something in her nest. No training, no real meaning to being an apprentice anymore. All her friends were either gone or in the warrior's den, and she was alone in the apprentice den. Shiverpaw kept her blue eyes open, and she watched for movement in the den. She was tire as well, but nit so tired that she had to go to bed. Maybe Onyxtail was awake....Stretching, the older apprentice began to walk towards the exit of the den. "Oof!" She tripped over someone and fell over right beside the body. Must've been one of the new apprentices, because she never met him before. "Uh...sorry," she mewed awkwardly, blowing her small bangs from her icy blue eyes. Scrambling to her feet, she whispered down at the tom, "I didn't realize. Sorry." She wore a smile, but her fur was hot with embarrassment.

He felt a force knock into him and he fell into the frost. He pushed himself up, watching his breath freeze and dissolve into the wind. He felt a little irritated, but upon hearing her apology, Webpaw blew it off. He flicked the ice off his ears and tail.
“Oh, uh, it’s no problem.” He mewed sensing her discomfort. He smiled back at her.
“I’m Webpaw.” He mewed brightly. He glanced at the entrance, making sure no one else was coming out.

She let out an awkward laugh and extended a paw for a hake, "Nice to meet you Webpaw. I'm Shiverpaw." She eyed the exit again. Smiling, her mew dropping to a whisper, she suggested, "Why don't we go? You know, so we don't wake anyone. Everyone is asleep, and I would hate to be blamed for a bad night's sleep." She padded towards the exit, flicking her tail towards Webpaw, a gesture for him to follow. This would be better then slumping around with a frown on her face, unable to sleep or dream. (lazy)

“You have a nice name, Shiverpaw.” Webpaw said.
Webpaw nodded. He didn’t want any apprentices angry at him for waking them up. Getting up and training bright and early in the morning with no sleep certainly wasn'tfun.
“Okay.” He padded after Shiverpaw quickly. He wondered where she was taking him. She seemed nice, and her name sounded familiar. The frost in Webpaw’s fur had melted leaving him partially damp. Walking warmed him up, but he didn’t want to turn into an icicle. He paused a minute, shaking the water droplets off, and leaving his fur slightly fluffier. He caught back up with Shiverpaw.

The moonlight slightly warmed her, and she sighed as the white light glistened off of her fur. She turned with a smile an laughed as she saw the fluffy tom. "Oh, wow you look great that way, Web!" she teased, hitting her fluffy blue and white tail to his nose. "Come on, let's just go for a walk." He seemed a little familiar too, probably from the nursery or something. She wasn't sure...didn't matter now. She sped up towards the exit and burst through into the territory. Nosing her head back through, she whisper-called, "Let's go!" The moon shone high in the sky, and she knew this would be a nice night with her new friend.

“Aw thanks. I try so hard, you know.” He smiled, letting out a small laugh. His nose twitched when she touched it. Webpaw followed her, nodding when she said something about a walk.
He followed her out, a hint of reluctance in his steps. But it didn’t last long. He felt a burst of energy as he saw the territory in the moonlight.
“It looks so much different during the day.” Webpaw noted out loud.

"Yeah, it does look different," she nodded in a greement, walking slowly beside him, "But I prefer the moonlight out here. I think it looks prettier when it's silver...." Smiling, Shiverpaw continued to walk, her eyes at the treetops and the moon. She sighed and then tagged him, crying out with a laugh, "Tag!" Her own burst of energy ran through her as she dashed forward with a bound, leaving Webpaw behind in the dust. She was fast, would he be able to catch up? Grinning, she let the night wind run through her fur, and she loved the feeling of soft earth beneath her moving paws.

He thought it looked slightly creepy and washed out. He liked the territory in the daylight better.
“Hey! No fair!” He said, taking off after her. He wasn’t nearly as fast as she was. He was smaller, for one. Plus he was built for power not speed, with his legs and body a bit shorter and stockier. He kept a constant pace, still a couple tail lengths ahead, before he had to slow down. He puffed his breath, struggling to get enough in his lungs. He took a minute before racing off once again.

An idea popped into her head and now Shiverpaw wore a mischievous smirk. She turned her head and watched him with wide blue eyes as he began to catch up. Still smiling, the apprentice stopped short in her path, her claws digging deep into the Earth in order to pause her momentum. She laughed in anticipation. Her reason was so her would run into her, just a sa prank. She thought it would be quite funny, honestly. So, she waited. Crouched over and still slowing herself down as she waited for the possible impact of another cat.

Webpaw was excited to bbe catching up. Though something seemed off. She had stopped, right in the path of him.
"HEY!" He tried to slow down, but his momentum carried him straight towards Shiverpaw. He braced for impact.

Laughing, the she-cat fell over as Webpaw knocked into her, lying to the side of him. "Well...hi..." she purred in amusement, blue eyes glimmering as she teased her new friend. Shiverpaw nudged his cheek to get to his feet, and was ready to shake the dirt from her blue-grey fur.

"Uh, hi?" He coughed out, reminded of Onyxtail's training scare. The tom jumped up, shaking the dust from his fur.
"When my mentor, Onyxtail, took me out training the first time, he did something sort of like that. A prank or whatever." He informed, though he didn't go into detail. Telling Shiverpaw about his girly scream wasn't something Webpaw particularly wanted to do.

Shiverpaw went frigid at the sound of his name. "Onyxtail is your mentor?" she asked with a fake smile, her body still frozen. Shaking her head, she sighed and her fake smile turned into a real one, "He's a real nice guy. One of my close friends. You're lucky to have him as a mentor. He's really quite wonderful..."
