Greypaw slid into the apprentices den, tail held high. He was finally an apprentice! Cloudbreeze had been assigned his mentor, and he was happy about it. Now, he was looking for a nest. Were there any unused ones?

Echopaw slid into te apprentices' den and saw one. "HI," she meowed. HEr beautiful voice rang out across the walls of the den and echoed back into her ears. HEr pale cream colored pelt flickered and moved as the light danced across the walls. Her eyes flickered in excitement too.

Greypaw turned to a cream she-cat. "Hello, i'm Greypaw, who are you?" He asked. Now was his chance to make new friends! "Um, do you know where any unused nests are?" He asked. He was hoping to find one.

Greypaw nodded and began to fix up his new nest. "I never got your name." He said.

"Echopaw," she replied. She grabbed a bundle of the old moss in Greypaw's nest and threw it out. Then, she came back with a bundle of moss and feathers.

Greypaw nodded and slid some of the feathers and moss into his nest. "Nice name. It suits you." He said.

"I don't know," Echopaw admitted. She too looked ta the ground. The two cats sat like that until Echopaw spoke. "You know," she said as she sat next to him. "We could be friends."

"Both of you are new? Figures. It's cool though. I'm sure the nursery is the same as always." He wondered how the mother was- Sandleaf. He will see her soon, not today but soon. Beaverpaw sat down and spoke again,"Okay,what are your names? And did you guys see any kits named Redkit and Whitekit?" He knew he got the last name wrong.
