Moons and moons ago, Sparrowfur had been in a scuffle and fallen, hitting her head on a rock. From that time on, she had always had severe headaches that would not go away. The aching in her head had subsided recently to a more dull pounding, but in the past few days, the stinging agony had returned. The she-cat hissed as she entered the den, her head throbbing more than ever.
"Forestbreak?" She called. The medicine cat had been the one to treat her before, so she figured it'd be best to go back to the same one. "My head-" She broke off, closing her eyes against the pain. A few moments later she recovered, "My headaches are back."

"Uh-oh." Forestbreak sighed, shaking her head. "That's not good, Sparrowfur- you got the head injury a long time ago." The she-cat closed her eyes, then opened them again and padded towards the black queen.
"All right." She grabbed a couple of poppy seeds and set them next to her. "Eat those. Are your headaches the only symptom? If they are, all I can do is decrease the pain every so often."
She glanced at Sparrowfur with sympathy. "I'm sorry."

Sparrowfur thankfully lapped up the poppy seeds, feeling the edge of the pain being softened. She looked at the Medicine cat and mewed, "I just get these head-spliting headaches and can't focus when they happen."
She hoped nothing too bad was wrong.

Forestbreak sighed. "Unfortunately, the only thing I can do is give you poppy seeds when the pain gets especially bad." Her eyebrows creased in sympathy. "I'm really not sure what's wrong, and there's no herb that can magically fix this. Let me know if anything worsens, and until then, drop by whenever you need a poppy seed."

Sparrowfur nodded. "Thank you." She mewed. Forestbreak hadn't been a medicine cat for long, but she knew very well what she was talking about. Sparrowfur was glad to call her a friend. She shook her head and ran a paw over her ear, feeling the pain go slightly away.

"You're welcome, Sparrowfur." Forestbreak had, indeed, been a medicine cat for a short time compared to many others, but it felt like much longer than it had been that she'd resided in this den. She attributed it to the fact that she'd merely been an apprentice when she was named medicine cat, and so she'd had the job for over half her life.
"I hope your head feels better. Like I said, come to me if any of the symptoms worsen." She smiled and turned away, sweeping a few dried leaves out of the den.
(A FRIEND? SHE'S KIND OF YOUR CHILD SPARROW. -shot-)
