[open to one] Thistleflame sat in his nest, feeling a bit foolish about his fear of the warriors' den. There really wasn't anything to it, he had realized, now that he had finally made a nest in it. His black tipped tail swished back and forth, sweeping up a bit of his moss. Oh well, I can change it later. The russet tom settled down, feeling bored again. It seemed he would never get rid of boredom. Well ... all he could do was sit it through. [/color]

Maplefrost stifled a yawn as she padded into the den after a long day of hunting. Great CloudClan, it seemed as if none of the other cats ever bothered to do anything. They were all too busy creating drama despite the fact that it was leaf-bare. The Clan needed every warrior hunting and patrolling, but that wasn't happening.
The senior warrior let out a sigh and sat down in her nest. She began to groom her long tortoiseshell pelt. After a few heartbeats, her green gaze flickered over to the other warrior. Maplefrost straightened up. "You look bored to death," she commented. "I'm Maplefrost." Maybe it was about time she'd gotten to know some of these newer warriors.

Thistleflame couldn't help but jump in slight surprise when he actually heard another cat's voice. He turned his own jade green eyes to the she-cat. Glad to have company, the russet warrior dipped his head in respect to the senior warrior. Its a pleasure to meet you, Maplefrost. I am Thistleflame. And yes, I am bored to death. It doesn't just look like it. A small smile played on his muzzle as he surveyed the tortoiseshell in front of him.

Her whiskers twitched in slight amusement, and a faint grin crept onto her muzzle. "Nice to meet you as well, Thistleflame." It seemed that some of these cats had learned proper respect, much unlike the other cat Maplefrost had met a few sunrises ago. What had that irritating kit's name been? Maplepaw? Ah, no matter; most of these cats would probably end up getting tired of leaf-bare in IceClan. When they could take it no more, they'd leave.
This warrior, on the other paw, appeared to be fairly well-mannered and kind. "Idle chat might be able to cure your boredom. It's been too long since I last talked for the sake of talking." The Maine Coon flicked one ear and returned to grooming her pelt for a brief moment. "Tell me, have you ever met a fox? I fought one many moons ago, before you were born." Maplefrost almost felt old now, but she turned so that the two scars running across her left flank were visible. "Never mess with one of those creatures. They're more likely to kill you than not."

The russet tom shook his head at the older warrior's question. No, I've never seen a fox before. Truth be told, I haven't seen any dangers in my life so far. It seems like the clans are dead, or something. I don't think I've ever been to a Gathering either. Thistleflame gave a small sigh. He knew enough geography and such about the other clans, and their leaders, but he knew nothing else about them. He hadn't heard of anyone in IceClan who had been to a Gathering before, and he was starting to doubt that he was ever going to be able to go to one. Have you ever been to a Gathering, Maplefrost? The tom was curious, whether he had been right about no one ever going to a Gathering, or if he was really too ignorant to notice.

She blinked; this was somewhat surprising. "I suppose it's a good thing you've never stumbled across any predators... I've been to a Gathering once, although nowadays the leaders seem to have given up on them." Maplefrost frowned slightly as she tried to recall that event. "The last time they actually held one was far too long ago. I remember that I was a new warrior then." The memory was quite faint. Perhaps her close friend and former mentor, Windflurry, would know better. She'd have to ask about it later.
"Shockingly enough, the Clans aren't dead. I spent around three moons as a prisoner to FireClan some time ago. There's a long story there... I heard that Darkstar led an attack here while I was gone, though." Thistleflame most likely hadn't been there for that battle, either. "I suppose you're somewhat correct, anyway. IceClan has been at peace for a while with the other Clans." Maplefrost shrugged; she didn't care much for fighting.

Thistleflame listened to the senior warrior's words, and couldn't help but feel a bit shocked. His mentor hadn't said a single thing about some attack or a warrior being held hostage, in another clan. Well, you wouldn't mind telling me the story, would you? I have plenty of time. There isn't much to do around here except for hunting, and I think I've spent almost all of my time as a warrior either doing that or finding myself with nothing to do. The story would be interesting, if she was willing to tell it. It would certainly bring a highlight to his rather lifeless day. Or, actually, life.

She nodded slowly. "Alright. Better get comfortable; it's not a short tale by any means."
The tortoiseshell tucked in her paws and took a breath. "Things started off innocently enough. As a kit, I only knew that my mother was Shadefrost and I wanted to grow up to be a great warrior. I wasn't aware of my father and my only full sibling for moons. My apprenticeship with Windflurry wasn't unusual. I became a warrior like everyone else and trained a few apprentices of my own. Nothing out of the ordinary there."
She thought for a moment. "One day I found Birdshadow out in the territory. It was there that we met Sparrowfur from FireClan. She told us that we were the kits of Hawktalon, and that we were littermates. The queen eventually convinced us to come to FireClan to meet out father. We found Mossfeather, another IceClan cat, being held there because she'd stolen prey. Of course, by the time we saw her there, it was already too late."
"Birdshadow and I never got to meet Hawktalon at all. Darkstar had her own plans; she kept a guard on us. My brother and Mossfeather escaped after a few sunrises, but I remained a hostage for much longer." The senior warrior winced faintly. It was still painful to remember her time in the prairie Clan.
"Eventually the two of them came back, along with Emberstorm, and they got me out. By then, Hawktalon had abandoned his birth Clan. My father is now the leader of RockClan, and I've sworn to rip his nine lives away with my own claws one day." Maplefrost's expression was serious. She flexed her long, black claws into the frozen earth.
"Never trust Darkstar. She's a fox-hearted liar. CloudClan knows that I barely survived that ordeal."

Oh god. Thistleflame frowned as he let the she-cat's words sink in. They were pretty close to unbelievable, but there was no reason she would lie. Maplefrost's story was a bit confusing as well, with all the names. Mossfeather, Sparrowfur, Birdshadow, Emberstorm ... And then there were two clan leaders who the tortoisheshell warrior seemed to hate. No, did hate. And one of them was her father. He'd never known of such family lines running through IceClan. For all he did know, there could be plenty more families like this. I'm sorry for the pain that you have been through. The russet tom's voice was soft, thinking things over. He had actually heard of all the names she had mentioned before, they were quite famous around the clan. Maybe even in other clans. Especially Emberstorm. Rumors spread like wildfire in the clan, and Thistleflame had heard about the idea of a new clan. Except, it seemed to have blown over by now.

Dawnlily padded into the warriors den tired from a day out hunting. At least she looked better...though her heart stays broken. She sighed and walked by some cats talking. She recognized one as Maplefrost but the other one she didn't know at all. She padded closer to them. Hello, she meowed with a smile. I'm Dawnlily, she meowed with a warm sweet smile. She sat down next to Maplefrost and smiled at the russet colored tom with big blue eyes.

[they met once, before. oh wells.] Thistleflame looked up at the new warrior who had joined them. Greetings, Dawnlily. Its a pleasure to meet you. My name is Thistleflame. The she-cat looked the slightest bit familiar. Maybe they had met before. The russet tom shrugged. If she couldn't remember him, he wouldn't try to make her. Besides, he could take this as a chance to meet another new cat. IceClan seemed to be filled with infinite cats, it seemed impossible to meet all of them.

Dawnlily narrowed her eyes. Wait a minute. Thistlepaw. I thought you'd never make it to the warriors den, she teased. Long time no see, she meowed with a warm smile. How have you been, she asked with a sweet smile on her face. (Ugh lazy)

(I thought this was open to one? o-o)
If she'd been presented with the choice, Maplefrost would certainly try to kill Darkstar and Hawkstar. Even as the senior warrior told the story, she realized that she hated two leaders. Who knew whether they'd ever come to attack her? The tortoiseshell was more than ready to face them down with her teeth bared. They were nothing more than fools with a few too many lives to spare.
"Thanks... It's not your fault though. That's all in the past." For the most part. Maplefrost wasn't on very good terms with any of her family members at the moment. Her mother had disowned her; she wanted Hawkstar dead, and Birdshadow hadn't bothered to tell his sister about the two kits he'd had moons ago. Their little world was slowly being ripped apart.
"Enough about that. Would you like to share a piece of fresh-kill?" The tortoiseshell rose to her paws and glanced toward the den entrance. It was a little bit unusual to think that she was actually enjoying a conversation with a newer warrior for once. Thistleflame could be a good friend in the future.
The senior warrior was about to go fetch something to eat when another younger warrior came marching in. Right away, Maplefrost went back to being serious and businesslike. She wasn't one to be open around many cats. "Oh, hello," she meowed. The feline's tail swished across the ground, unsure of what else to say for once.

Thistleflame nodded, accepting her offer. He hadn't shared anything with anyone in a while, really. As he got up, he glanced at Dawnlily, slightly wondering why Maplefrost hadn't addressed her. Er ... so you do remember me. He gave a slight smile to the she-cat, wondering if the senior warrior in his company had actually noticed the presence of the younger warrior. The russet tom shook it off. Oh well. [eh. i feel tired right now, sorry about the lazy post. oh wait. that. whatever. i feel to tired to edit all those posts. let's just say open to two.]

Dawnlily smiled a greeting at Maplefrost. Hello, she meowed in a sweet and respected tone. Food sounds good now, she purred sweetly. I'll get it if you want? she meowed witha questioning tilt of her head.
She looked over to Thistleflame. Of course I remember you, she meowed with a warm smile.
