(Open for one other character. Short posts would be great. I'm looking to get a little speed posting done on this account; if you've got the time to hang around for a while and reply, then I'd be glad to have you here.)
Maplefrost padded into the warriors' den and sat down rather heavily in her nest. She'd just finished showing Hollypaw the territory, and the lesson had worn her out for some reason or another. The senior warrior glanced around, hoping to start a conversation with someone.

"Sis! Haven't seen you in ages! How're you?" Birdshadow grinned, padding up to his littermate. "We should really catch up, don't you think? What have you been up to lately?" Sitting down, he flicked his blue-gray tail.

(I've been meaning to get to Bird/Maple for so long. eue)
She turned to see her brother, of all cats. Great CloudClan, they had things to catch up on. "I've missed you," Maplefrost purred as she rose to her paws and nudged the grey tom with her damp nose. "Nothing out of the ordinary going on here... I hope you've been well. We do have things to talk about, though..." She lapsed into silence and lapped at one paw thoughtfully.

"Yes, yes, I've been swell. Have you met my sons, Jaypaw and Swallowflight yet, by any chance?" He tipped his head inquisitively. "I don't quite remember if you did. Either way, they've grown into fine young toms- though Jaypaw's a bit, er, resentful."
"Yes, we do. What in particular would you like to talk about?"

She shifted in slight discomfort. "Er... yes. Your sons. I wanted to talk to you about them." Maplefrost twitched one ear and blinked before continuing in a slightly distraught tone. "I never even found out about them until Tanglepelt told me a moon ago. Why didn't you tell me?" The tortoiseshell gazed at Birdshadow painfully.

"Oh. Uh, I'm sorry. I guess I've been so caught up in raising them that I wasn't exactly up to speed with telling others." He shifted uncomfortably. "I'm sorry," he said again. "I should've told you earlier. It's just that we haven't talked in a long time..."

She narrowed her eyes. "Even so... you should have informed your own sister, at the least. I choked when Tanglepelt mentioned it." Maplefrost dropped her gaze to the ground momentarily. "Well, nothing to dwell over. We should really have talked more often anyway." The feline aimed a playful swipe at Birdshadow's ear in an attempt to lighten the mood.

"I- I'm sorry, Maplefrost. Back then wasn't a good time in either of our lives. I wasn't particularly enthusiastic about life in general at the time, and the kits were kind if a surprise. But let's not get into that." He flattened his ears.
Relieved as his sister changed the saubject, Birdshadow swipes at her paw with a grin.

The female was quite curious as to what her brother meant by surprise, but she merely shook out her pelt and allowed the subject to slip away. She withdrew her paw swiftly and prowled closer to lick Birdshadow's forehead in a manner that could almost be called affectionate. As if she was ever affectionate.
"Been keeping up with battle practice? I've been doing a lot of sparring recently. Can't be too prepared..." The tortoiseshell was clearly referring to the ordeal with FireClan.
(A certain Sai is falling asleep and shall return after this 12-hour nap.)
