Sleetpaw happily padded into the apprentices den with a ball of moss in her mouth. She carefully laid the green plant down in the middle of the apprentices den where there was an open spot. Sleetpaw then smoothed it out and entwined some sweet smelling roses around the edges of her new nest. Finally, the she-cat made a circular dent in the middle for sleeping in. Now, her nest was ready. She curled up inside in stuck her head out of the nest. There was one more thing to do before she went to sleep, make a friend.

Silverpaw was in a nearby nest, his face buried in the moss, muffling his breathing. But his ears perked as Sleetpaw began to make her nest. Siverpaw raised his head, and a scrap of moss still dangled over his face. "Whats happening?" He asked, slightly alarmed, as he swung his head around. "Im blind!"

"Hey, Silverpaw!" Sleetpaw greeted, remembering her old friend from kit-hood. She walked over to him, only for him to scream he was blind. "You're not blind silly!" She giggled, taking a paw and knocking off the moss that was hanging from his face. "See? Anyway, who's your mentor? Mine Ottershine!" She asked, speaking quickly and loudly.

"Mine is Willowtail." He sreplied, slashing the moss with his claws. "I have been apprentice for quite some time now and my training still hasnt begun." He meowed with a hint of worry.

"Well I'm sure you'll start training soon. She can't put it off forever." Sleetpaw pointed out, sheathing and unsheathing her claws to see how big they were. Hopefully Ottershine would began to train her soon, she had only just became an apprentice anyway. Sleetpaw couldn't wait to be a warrior, it would be so fun to get a new name, a new den, and maybe even a mate! Though to have a mate, someone would have to like her, and she would have to like them. Who was her crush, anyway?

Silverpaw nodded in agreement. "Just, Im not sure if my training is worth it." He meowed

"Not worth it?" Sleetpaw gave Silverpaw a confused glance. What did he mean by, It wasn't worth it. Sleetpaw was sure training was so much fun! Plus it would help her to become a warrior. Did he..just wanna be an apprentice forever? The she-cat had never heard of something like that, but hey, she didn't know what was going on in Silverpaw's mind.

Silverpaw looked out of the den, lost in his own mind. He replayed over and over again what he had heard willowtail saying. Then he heard an actual voice. That of Sleetpaw. "Not worth it?" she had asked. "Something I had heard Willowtail say at the beginning of my apprenticeship." He meowed.

Sleetpaw watched as Silverpaw glanced outside with a lost look in his eyes. "Something I had heard Willowtail say at the beginning of my apprenticeship." The she-cat tilted her head a bit and flicked her ear in confusion. "Well what did she say?" Sleetpaw asked, looking at Silverpaw and waiting for him to answer.

"She said that she wanted to see her friends one last time before training me. And I began to hate myself as I thought that my training would drag her away from her friends." He looked away, the things he had felt when he first heard it still fresh in his mind.

Sleetpaw narrowed her eyes and lowered her head. "PA-lease. It's not like she's going to be training you evey second of her life. She'll have time to see her friends, training only takes part of the day. She can do whatever she wants the rest of the time, hang out with friends or have time to herself. That's the most pathetic excuse of not being able to see your friends I've ever heard of." Sleetpaw took a breath, then sat down, proud of her little speech.
