Applepaw eyed the apprentice den fearfully, her bronze Egyptian Mau pelt shining clean in the sunlight. Gulping down a lodge in her throat, the bronze pelted apprentice stepped one paw into the den and instantly regretted it. She shouldn't be there. She should be with her mother.
The apprentice clamped a large bundle of moss in her jaws, her large ears pricked intelligently as she struggled to stay calm and... confident? Breathing in a huge, shuddering breath, Applepaw stepped forward a bit more, and felt herself easing off the tension. Breathing became easier, and her steps more confident and sure of herself.
Her bronze fur flashed brilliantly like a dark wall of flames, dark spots shadowing them as her green eyes shone like emeralds. They had an amber cast to it though, as she strode over to a spot and carefully built her nest. Placing her bundle of bracken in it, she tore the bundle apart and began to take shape of her diamond-shaped nest.
Applepaw shook off her wary feeling, laid down in her nest and looked around like some Egyptian princess that disapproved of the mess of nests in front of her. In fact, her nest was in a particularly shady spot, so she wouldn't be spotted across the den.
