Jade, the rogue who had come into the FireClan territory mysteriously a few days before, lay at the entrance to the medicine cats' den. She appeared to be sleeping, with her broken leg covered protectively with her tail, good leg, and head. Soft snores exhaled from her nose, before all went Dark Pool.
The she-cat's ears twitched nervously, and the pink nose crinkled as her brown tabby form flinched instinctively. Then a pair of lime-green eyes shot open as a startled yelp escaped her. Jade's head smashed reflexively against the wall of the medicine den, and her gasps came to a stand still as the injured she-cat gazed with wide lime green eyes ahead of her.
Not seeming to recognize the environment she had begun to get used to and enjoy, Jade's eyes wandered over the long grasses and her heart was torn in two. The rogue was no where near DeathClan.

"How's your leg doing, hon?" purred Forestbreak softly, stepping behind Jade. She still was careful when around the apprentice-aged rogue- not that Jade could hurt her or anything, but Forestbreak simply wanted her to feel as comfortable as possible in FireClan. "Are you quite all right?" she murmured more quietly, noticing that the young cat seemed distraught.
Forestbreak rested her tail on Jade's shoulders comfortingly. "Do you need anything for pain?" she asked worriedly.

" Huh? " Jade jumped as the medicine cat stepped behind her. " It's doing fine, Forestbreak. It's just numb, that's all. " Jade murmured softly, testing her leg. " It hardly works anymore. You do wonders.. " The next question was unexpected and Jade felt her breath hitch as her lime-green eyes filled with tears.
" No. I'm not alright. I miss DeathClan a lot, but I don't understand why I was banished from their lands. I only... stood up for the Clans... And... " Jade began to hiccup softly between words. " I don't get why they did.. this. " she murmured softly again, gesturing with her tail to the wounds inflicted on her body.

Forestbreak sighed. "I'm afraid we can't do much for your leg, but if you'd like, I can suggest some exercises for you to do that can perhaps return a bit of feeling back to it. But I'm sorry to say that it will never work the way it used to." She let out a quiet breath, gaze cast to the floor- she hated seeing cases like this, where there was little to nothing she could do.
As Jade broke down, Forestbreak rushed back to her side, licking her head comfortingly. "You'll be all right, dear. You'll be all right. We'll care for you here in FireClan, and DeathClan doesn't deserve to have you in their ranks if they did such a thing to you."

Jade let the medicine cat lick her head comfortingly, but the little cat didn't bother leaning her head into it. Even though she trusted three cats out of the entire Clan, it didn't mean she didn't trust every other cat. With a deep, shuddering sigh, Jade quickly dried her tears with two quick swipes of her good paw.
" I already know my leg won't be of anymore use. Considering Drought pushed me off one of the highest branches of a big oak. " she growled, and flicked her tail angrily as she thought of her former ally. " I was his ally until I betrayed DeathClan and I was banished.

"What sane cat would do such a thing to a young cat like you?" hissed Forestbreak. I know DeathClanners are supposed to be cruel, but this Drought sounds positively horrible! She wondered what Jade did to betray DeathClan, but did not voice her question. She didn't want to make the child uncomfortable. "I'm sorry this happened to you. FireClan will do everything in their power to make you feel welcome, all right?" She smiled wearily.
