Well, I promised somebody [redflame/p]

Regretting the promise she had made to Shadowpaw, Skypaw stalked into the warriors' den, scanning for the too familiar red pelt that she used to leap for joy for. Redflame? Her voice came out softly.

[Redflame]

As much as Redflame wished to be Skypaw's friend again. He didn't want to see her right now. It made him feel even worse than he was. "Yes? he asked sighing, and staring at his paws.

[Skyleaf]

Her eyes grew cold. Look. Don't think I want to be doing this any more than you do. I promised my friend I would do it, and I'm not going to break a promise. Unlike some people. Skypaw growled at him, reluctantly moving closer.

[Redflame]

He looked at his paws instead of her. "Well why did this cat want you here? he asked her. But it wasn't in a mean voice at all. It was in more of a sad, missing type voice.

[Skyleaf]

She took a deep breath, briefly closing her eyes, and told herself to calm down. He wanted me to ask .. why you asked Hollystep to be your mate that first time.

[Redflame]

He shrugged "I guess after not seeing you in awhile i started to miss you a lot. And i always did like Hollystep. But after what you had said....After you would die for me. I loved you more. But i can't just break it off with Hollystep. I can't let her have another heart break....... I know this is a lot to ask for....But please, can we be best friends again? I don't know what to do with out you Skypaw. I really might just die!" he told her. Digging his face in his paws.

[Skyleaf]

Her tensed position relaxed a bit at the end, somewhat glad she wouldn't have to be the one to plead for his friendship again. Despite everything that had happened, Skypaw still valued her pride. Alright. I guess we could be ... friends. She choked on the last word, forcing it out.

[Redflame]

He smiled "Thank Skypaw, it makes me feel a lot better knowing that you won't hate me for the rest of my life!" he purred to her. Getting up a giving her a friendly nuzzle.

[Skyleaf]

Yeah. Me too .. She started a weak smile, but then flinched at Redflame's touch, and instinctively pulled back, away from him.

[Redflame]

He looked down at her. "Um...Sorry? he said a bit puzzled. But knowing that they would never really be best friends again like they used too.

[Skyleaf]

Whatever. Just forget it, Redflame. She sighed, voice partially bitter again. This was never going to work, no matter what happened. Especially since Redflame obviously wasn't willing to part with Hollystep.

[Redflame]

He sighed, than turned to his back to go lay in his nest again. "I'm soooo sorry Skypaw. I hope you know that. You deserve better than me...." he said laying back down.

[Skyleaf]

She had to blink back tears again as he turned his back, and she bowed her head as if in mourning. What happened to us? Her voice was barely audible, not even loud enough to be considered a whisper. She was mostly talking to herself, anyway.

[Redflame]

He shrugged "I don't know....I went crazy... Actually i'm crazy... Specially now that you hate me" he murmured.

[Skyleaf]

If only she could convince herself that all these problems were because of the heat in the Land of the Sun. But she should've seen this coming - nothing was perfect, not in real life. Skyleaf shook her head, as if denying his reason. The heat had nothing to do with this.
