The stary night sky was peaceful and cool. Shredpaw was awake this night, and sat outside on the porch of the aprpentices den staring at the sky with a light smile. He still needed to congradulate Cherrypaw on her ceremony. Shredpaw looked slightly back at the den as he heard something coming.

It had been at least a few days since Cherrypaw was apprenticed. She'd been tired ever since her ceremony, thus her social skills had, for once, been a bit lacking. The she-cat, on this very night, had insomnia, however, and was unable to sleep, despite how tired she was. With that, Cherrypaw padded out of the apprentices' den, her pelt a mess from rolling around in her nest so much. "Hey, Shredpaw," Cherrypaw mewed groggily, her words slurred. She yawned, then asked, "How are ya?"

Shredpaw looked back at Cherrypaw with a tilt of his head. Looks like she has been rolling. He said, but put a little smile on his face. Hey Cherrypaw, I've been fine thank you. Congradulations on your ceremony. He said with a dip of his head, the looked back at her. Having a hard time adjusting to apprentice life? Shredpaw asked.

"Thanks," Cherrypaw mewed, gaining a little more energy. "Congratulations to you too, Shredpaw." The she-cat dipped her head in respect, then, whiskers twitching, attempted at batting the tom's ear. "Yeah, a little. I've been really tired lately, honestly." Cherrypaw responded. "It's just so much hard work! I seriously never imagined that being an apprentice would be this hard. I thought it was all fun and games." The brown tabby felt embarrassed to ask, but asked anyway, "So, uh, who's your mentor? Are they nice? Have you done any training?" Cherrypaw was still a little too tired to go rambling on and on like she usually did, but she was definitely still abl to ask questions.

Shredpaw shook his head. Hailstorm, then Ferndrop. Neither of them have trained me. At first Hailstorm didn't even hold a lesson so I got another ceremony. Now Ferndrop is my mentor. She hasn't taught me anything either. He said, and gave a faint smile. Well, anyway, let's not worry about that right now. Apprenticeship may be hard, but in the end it should pay of as being warriors. He said with his smile widening.[/color]

"Really?" Cherrypaw asked, blinking in surprise. "We've only been apprentices for a short while, and you've already at your second mentor? Wow, I'm sorry to hear that, Shredpaw." She nudged him gently on the shoulder, "Hey, maybe I could ask Jaywood if we can take you on a training session sometime! I'm not sure if we'll need to ask your mentor, but I doubt Ferndrop would mind, right? After all, it would only make her job easier!" She purred, trying to be comforting. She, in a way, sort of liked Shredpaw; he was a cute tom, and he was probably one of the nicest males in the Clan. In the very least, he wasn't her cocky, annoying younger brother Oak-kit.

Shredpaw nodded and smiled when Cherrypaw nudged his shoulder. Thanks, that would be very nice of you Cherrypaw. I don't think Ferndrop would mind either. He said with a smile, cheering up that she said she might ask Jaywood if they could train together. That was very sweet of her. Shredpaw thought with the smile still there.

"I don't think so, either." Cherrypaw purred lightly in response. "And if she does mind, we could always train here in camp or ask another warrior to take us out into the territory for training." The she-cat shrugged slightly, "I don't see why it would be a problem, anyway. If you're ever going to be a warrior, you need to be trained!" Cherrypaw glanced up at the sky, noticing that it was possibly starting to have a lighter tone to it. "Is it already almost morning?" She asked, her eyes dilating slightly in disbelief and her tail-tip flicking.

Shredpaw nodded. Yeah. We could train together. Want to practice a little? Or you going to head to your nest? He asked with a tilt of his head. It wasn't his business if she was going to sleep, and he blushed a little in embarrasement.

"I haven't done any battling or hunting, to be honest." Cherrypaw glanced down, shifting her paws. Although she didn't know Shredpaw was embarrassed, she was actually feeling embarrassed herself. She may have been a new apprentice, but Cherrypaw still felt awkward having not trained in hunting or battle. Cherrypaw swiftly turned and flattened a few tufts of fur on her flank, "I should sleep, but I really don't want to." The apprentice sighed. "I don't even know if I could sleep at this point. I've hardly gotten any sleep at all lately, which really doesn't make any sense, since I've been feeling okay and everything."

Shredpaw put his tail on her shoulders. Nor have I, so don't worry about it Cherrypaw. If you want a training buddy or someone to talk to, you can come to me- you here? He said assuringly, and gave a smile.

Cherrypaw glanced over at Shredpaw, surprised by how serious he was. They were practically the north pole and the south pole in personality, it seemed. "Y-yeah..." Cherrypaw mewed somewhat quietly, taken aback by the sincerity of the tom's words. Cherrypaw felt her fur bristle slightly, and pretended to tremble as if cold, but she knew it was actually the realization that she might just have a small crush on this tom. He was pretty nice to her, but what if he was a player of sorts? Ah, well, if everyone else in TreeClan tested out flirting with others, why couldn't Cherrypaw? Oh, right, because she didn't really care for all of that drama. She'd rather chase butterflies than have to deal with drama.

Shredpaw shuffled a bit. He was acting a bit serious, and there was a little tension he sensed. How 'bout a game? He offered trying to break the ice between them. Shredpaw wasn't really trying much to be serious, he liked Cherrypaw.

(Sorry for the lateness. ^^')
"Nah, I'm too tired." Cherrypaw mumbled nearly inaudibly. It was the first time in her life that she was too anything to play a game, so of course that meant it was serious. I think I like him, so why don't I want to play a game? Is it because I'm scared? Am I really so tired that I can't play a game? Cherrypaw faked a yawn and said, "I... I think I can fall back asleep again. I'm going to go back into the den." The brown tabby turned and slipped into the apprentices' den, curling up in her nest and thinking it all over.
She never wanted to have a crush on any cat, so why was it happening?
(In-her-head drama. At least it's not the annoying kind of mate drama, as far as I'm concerned. x3 They'll end up together. ^^)

[^.^ , yeah it's not the annoying kind]
Shredpaw sighed, it was time for them to get back to sleep. Training was soon. He nodded, and walked on into his nest and plopped down soundly.
[end o' thread]
