Waspwing hadn't even heard the kit enter. He left his little cache of herbs, bringing along a couple of poppy seeds with him. He listened in silence as the kit apologized, and began to examine the injury.
"Eh, don't be sorry. Unless you were running in a thorn patch. Then it's completely your fault." He said, not even second thoughting his sarcasm. "This seems like a pretty simple thorn." He said reassuringly.
He bent his head down to bite the thorn. "This won't hurt a bit, alright?" He said, completely lying. In truth this would pinch, and then the pain would fade. But it was better to get the cooperation of this little fellow.

Waspwing was about to yank the little sucker out when the kit asked about what he had cured before. He sighed, but sat back up and tried to look as friendly and reassuring as possible. "I've cured more injuries than you can count. And trust me, this happens to everyone. Even Beechstar, and myself." He purred.
He quickly ducked and yanked the thorn out. A clean take, and the wound looked perfectly fine. No infection, no blood spatter. A nice, clean cut. Now for the yelp of pain.

Waspwing tried not to show his annoyance at all of the questions at once. Oh well, every kit asked questions. It was only a matter of time before he met one he actually liked. He purred and rolled the poppy seeds toward him. "Eat those. They'll dull the pain, and you can get a good nap in." He purred.
"Oh, Koisplash? Pffft, Koisplash used to be a clumsy little thing. I remember one time she came in with a thorn stuck in her flank. She said she had just found it in her nest, but I'm still certain she had been running around a thorn bush." He purred, enjoying being able to make fun of Koisplash and Beechstar for once.
"Oh, and yes, learning all of my herbs takes lots of times, and lots of patience." He purred, looking back at his herb piles. "Sometimes I still forget what some of them do." He said quietly.
"And about those berries," He said, turning back to the little black kit. "Don't you worry. Just promise me you'll never eat a plant or berry that you don't know is safe. Alright?"
